From my standpoint, it wouldn't be a fight. Just send me the highlights of Bama players in the NFL and that will continue to be the sum total of my NFL viewing.
Some may argue this, because think of the money football has brought to Alabama? Sure, this may only be the story for
Has to be a huge liability losing years from an already tiny window to profit from. I see the college kids potentially losing more. The pros already have jobs, the college guys don't. They are interviewing, and without an interview they are jobless.
Ultimately, I think your concern about players losing NFL $ might be overstated. We are spoiled with the Alabama talent, but in the big picture, I want to say less than 2% of college football players make $ post eligibility. In FBS it's like 4%. And I assume there would still be a draft... For every player that drops in value, doesn't someone else have to move up? Kind of a wash in that regard...

Yes sir, that's very true. With that being said, we also know there is a similar small percentage of athletic departments operating in the black. Without money, no scholarships, which means a lot of these guys aren't even able to get into college or get a degree to be able to work towards a career with an education to back them.

Great point. No doubt about it... College sports help a whole lot of kids get educated, and football & mens basketball do a lions share of the funding for basically most other sports (with exceptions for certain programs at certain schools, obviously).
The athletic economic chain could be completely crippled. Hard to envision much more than a half a dozen sports actually surviving at even smaller D1's, and with Title 9 I believe it has to be 1 for 1 in male/female sports. The fat that got trimmed at Stanford could very well be the norm, really soon (Granted a lot of those sports were pretty rare on the national level).
