šŸˆ Hurricane Matthew: LSU/UF decision (UPDATED to be played 11/19 @ LSU)

As far as moving the SECCG back a week, if the CC would give a consideration to Navy to accommodate their potential run, why not?
But then again, if Bama is the winner in the West, it gives them an extra week to prepare. Would any potential East opponent like that?

Roll Tide!

I want to say that Alabama and auburn scheduled a bye week before the SECCG a time or two, to get 2 weeks to prepare, but it was stopped. Maybe someone can remember if that happened?

The SEC began requiring teams to play the week before the SECCG. Bama and aubrun initially agreed to move their bye from before their game to after it, folks complained it was an advantage, and the conference cut it out.

South Alabama, Presbyterian respond to Florida-LSU announcement
The news of the LSU-Florida game being moved to Nov. 19 means that two games – LSU vs. South Alabama and UF vs. Presbyterian – have officially been canceled.

Both schools commented on the news Thursday.

ā€œObviously we are extremely disappointed to not have the opportunity to play in Baton Rouge on Nov. 19,ā€ South Alabama athletic director Dr. Joel Erdmann said in a press release. ā€œThis disappointment runs throughout our program, including our student-athletes, coaches, the University of South Alabama and all Jaguar fans. We realize this is a very complicated and unique situation. The University of South Alabama — with the assistance of the Sun Belt Conference — did everything reasonable within our power to make the game a reality, including offering to move our Homecoming game to a later date.ā€

Presbyterian athletic director Brian Reese issued a brief statement.

ā€œWe are currently exploring options to play a football game on Nov. 19,ā€ Reese said.

Presbyterian has an opening.

LSU has been adamant about keeping 11/19 as a home game. UF, in order to play the game, conceded home field for the game. In return, the UF-LSU game will be played at UF in 2017 and 2018.
Thanks ! I can see why LSU want it a home game paying S.Alabama 1.5 mils in a buy out. Where UF is paying Prov. 500,000 in a buy out.
