šŸ“ HS coach on Harsin. He's telling recruits: I’ve made a living off of beating a lot of four- and five-star kids with guys like you.ā€

Harsin is probably a decent maybe even good coach from x's and o's and discipline but in the SEC it takes that on top of really good players. It also takes the organizational and fanbase backing. The organizational and fanbase backing and needing great talent will probably be his undoing.

It is good insight into how Harsin thinks, but also his lack of awareness. He truly believes he can coach guys up, and probably prefers taking lower ranked guys for several different reasons. Problem is, while he states he's beat a lot of teams with 4 and 5 star guys, he hasn't done it in the SEC, where teams are loaded with them.... I'd bet several SEC schools have more 4 star recruits on the own rosters than all the Mountain West Conference teams combined. Even so, while Harsin has a lot of confidence in his abilities to coach 'em up... the SEC is full of staffs who can do the same. Bottom line, filling your locker room with below average league talent is far from a recipe for success.

If I remember this right when he was hired ... I counted seven teams he won against (at Boise State) what we look at as legit P5 schools: Washington, Oregon State, Oregon, Washington State, et. al. The asterisk came in on several of those: a 6 win Florida State in 19 and a seven win Oregon in '17 come to mind.

(First game he lost at Boise was against a Freeze led Ole Miss.)

Auburn HS coach being politically correct since he is right there on the doorstep. HS kids are smarter than you think and they can read through the bullshit. A few will fall for it, but most will look at the fact that his coaching offices have a revolving door installed and Harsin is another 5-6 min season from being out the door.

They will anti up and give signing bonuses... Its the Barn...

It’s win/win for the boogs. The PTB s can ā€œWayne Hallā€ it on the recruiting trail. They win and the masses are happy. They get caught, hang it on Harsin and fire him. Hire a coach they can control and the beat goes on.

He is truely "a dead man walking " in regards to coaching circles...

They already want shed of him...didnt work..... strike 1..
Now...its just sit and wait....for strike 2 ( probably another 5-6 season)..
Wont get a strike 3 in the AU coaching game

Freeze probably has a real estate agent in AU on speed dial

That will stop the power brokers at the Barn? I doubt it. Either way how would anyone be able to prove this is Harsin's position and the power brokers? Seems more like this is just internet chatter/speculation?

Those guys can pay whoever they want or whatever they want, but they aren't the ones who chooses who signs the papers. As to Harsin, I don't think it's a big secret around the auburn program that his stance is to win without egregious cheating. I know that's odd for an auburn coach, or really any SEC coach, but it's apparently a strong sticking point with him. Doesn't mean they don't use NIL (they do of course)... but I don't believe they use a Texas A&M like system either. His stance on that could certainly change, but he'd be wise to be careful at this point so that he doesn't get the Pruitt treatment by the vultures who want to try and oust him free of charge...

How sad is it this day in age where not wanting to cheat is held against you. So sad.

If he’s telling that to three-stars, what’s the problem? Three-stars don’t have their pick of programs. Three-stars might become four-stars. If he’s recruiting early enough, this might help him with the ā€œwe’ve always wanted youā€ appeal.

I know a HS coach who worked under one of his close friends who was the assistant principal and AD. The friend told the coach he was going to be altering some grades to keep a couple of players eligible (pressure from parents/boosters). The coach got mad and said I'll have no part of that and I won't play them. The AD fired the coach and the whole deal ruined their friendship.
