šŸˆ How well do you know your Alabama football?

I was between two answers on when the first game was played... was a bit before my time. But I guessed correctly and got them all.
We're smart like that.

You did not recall that the '92 title year was also the centennial year? Also got 10 out of 10, although I wasn't sure of the last one off the top of me head, whether it was 4 or 5, went with 4 to get 100%.

I was 9 so didn't know then and haven't recalled since. I was between '92 and '95 and just guessed really.

I got a 9. Couldn't remember for sure if McCarron broke Barker's winningest record. I remember when it was going on trying to figure it out, but I could never find the exact list of games that Barker started.

I still want to see a list of which games Barker started if anyone has it.

I don't have the actual list, but you can back into it from his 35-2-1 record.

Page 19, not updated for 2013 when AJ passed him in total wins. By win percentage (not total wins), I think Barker still edged him.

ALABAMA’S WINNINGEST QUARTERBACKS

35-2-1 Jay Barker (1991-94) .934
25-2-0 AJ McCarron (2010-present) .926 (ended up 36-4, or .900 by my calculations)
22-2-1 *Dixie Howell (1937-34) .900
24-3-0 Greg McElroy (2007-10) .888
21-3-0 Joe Namath (1962-64) .875
21-3-0 Terry Davis (1971-72) .875
26-2-4 Pat Trammell (1959-61) .875
33-5-0 Jeff Rutledge (1976-78) .868
30-9-2 *Harry Gilmer (1944-47) .756
22-8-1 Mike Shula (1984-86) .721

*Gilmer and Howell both played in single-wing formations in which they did not lineup as a quarterback, but were their team’s primary pass thrower.

These ten men taking snaps for Bama account for almost 30 percent of the team's wins through the first 119 seasons of Alabama football. That's amazing to me.

Tim
