🏈 How long will the 1st string play versus GSU?

i was thinking we should treat it like an nfl preseason game, in that we only let the first stringers stay in a drive or two, and then turn it over to second, third, and fourth stringers if we want. Give some of the walkons who have never been on the field a chance to play.

This game is a great opportunity to sdee alot of AJ before next spring, so id like to see him in for the better of three quarters. Gregs the starter, but at this part of the season you dont need practice games as much, any rest is a good thing.

I'd be shocked if they make it out of the first quarter. GA State will put up little, if any, resistance. Let the starters get a score or two to keep confidence up and rhythm going and yank 'em.

I wouldn't put Trent on more than a few runs, tops. Knee bruises are notoriously slow to heal. If he's feeling up to it I'd give him a few carries to get his legs warm, so to speak, and then sit him for the Iron Bowl.

I figure most of the 1st stringers on offense will play the first half. McCarron will probably get some snaps with them though, then play most of the 2nd half. The 1st OL might play a little longer, and Ingram might not play as long (I doubt Trent plays). On defense, I'm sure the subbing will be early and often after UA is up 21.

I think alot will be determined by the flow of the game. If the 1st O goes out there and looks sharp, then they stay only for 2-3 series. Slop around and we could see them awhile. I honestly think that Trent sits, Mark gets 5-6 touches, Eddie, Demetrious, and Jalston will carry the load.
