🏈 how good is ingram?

is he the product of a solid rushing attack from a balanced team or does this kid really have the stuff?

i am starting to become a believer.. low center of gravity and great lower body strength gives him leverage.. he is very elusive in open field and in traffic.. he can break tackles (he has some serious guns).. he deffinately has break away speed like in the kentucky game when he broke the long run (i don't think i have ever seen that gear)

i have not seen him drop a pass, and he deffinatley knows what to do after the catch..

he has really stepped up as a leader.. i always see him on the sidelines in the ear of other players keeping them up.. he also put richardson under his wing much like coffee did for him last year..

all of this and he's a true sophmore..

i am beginning to think that we have a really special player here.. i'm sure having a father that played in the NFL gave him confidence at an early age.. he deffinately believes in his abilities.. his improvement from last year was ten fold.. if he improves as much next year he will be unbelievable..

so what do you guys think? are we looking at shaun alexander type of talent? is ingram the next emmit smith or barry sanders? does he have heisman written in his future? or maybe NFL MVP?

i think he is the real deal.. maybe even a little below the radar.. ranked 17th at his position out of highschool, 6th in his state.. he could have been a top ten type recruit..

He has amazing vision. Something Ive noticed this year alot more. He sees where defensive players are going, and how the play is developing. Just watch some of his longer runs and you can see him knowing when to cut, and when to just run it out.

they are all good for sure, but you know what i mean. some backs are really special.. i don't see upchurch being an NFL running back.. richardson can be for sure, but ingram is really showing signs of having a gift... a combination of talents that allows him to surpass the competition in a big way..

IMO ....The comparisons to Emmitt are dead on. Physically..hes built like him and he runs EXACTLY like him....He also reminds me of Bryan Westbrook alot. Call me a nut if ya want....but I think he is the best all around RB we have ever had at the sophomore level... Smart...and fundamentally very sound. As already mentioned...his vision and patience are well ahead of that of a sophomore. He gets stronger as the game progresses and could easily get 30 touches or more per game if needed.

Spot on with the Emmitt Smith comparison I think he is an all-american no doubt maybe 1st team all- american as a soph. and with TR spelling him the best tandem in the country JMHO RTR!:td:

Not to mention that he's had 200+ carries and has not fumbled.

He also reminds me of Bryan Westbrook alot.

Protecting the ball well is one of the things Westbrook does best, and a hugely underrated skill for a back. I think Ingram'll continue to be a playmaker for Bama. I see him being a solid workhorse in the NFL, good backup or marginal starter, not a star by any means but good enough to stick around for a while.

One of the guys on College Football Final (can't remember which) called him the 'most powerful back in the country!' I definitely don't believe that there is another talent like him in the SEC.

My measure would be to ask how good would he be (Ingram) in another offense, and how good would someone else be in ours.

If one gives Richardson another season, how good would he be compared to Ingram/ Would be be just as solid? I think yes. To me they seem to be cut from the same fabric. So as far as Ingram goes, he is unremarkable on his own team (AMAZING STATEMENT). He does stand out, but I think it is due to the number of touches he gets as the One.

Ingram benfits signifianctly from the system that we run, Balanced attack, solid blocking O-Line, not too much or too little of the Wildcat, having back ups who are good enough to allow the coaches to let Ingram take a breather.... I think other offenses who challenge him to be as good as he is.

But all of this is irrelavant in so many ways. Why he is producting is not the point. Its THAT he is productive. Power, Speed, Elusiveness, Vision, Sure-handed, pass catcher....he is complete, and THAT seperates him from so many others.

Is he One of the top 2-3 backs in America? That is too subjective for me. Do I think that there are 2-3 backs out there that CNS would trade for him. NO!

So it it irreleveant in that we have who we want, in that he will take us further than anyone else, that we will be successfull, that he will go pros....

So how good is Mark Ingram? Answer: More than good enough for us.

Ingram by far has been my favorite player in the Crimson/White the past two years. I was sold on him after I watched him stiff arm a guy against Kentucky last year. The guy grabbed his jersey and pull Mark down but the damage had already been done. He's a beast.

<---This stiff arm!

I think with him and Richardson we have our own version of Reggie Bush and LenDale White.

Throw in a healthy Upchurch and it just isnt fair!
