All I know is everywhere my son and I have been the past few days (airports, restaurants, etc...) from ATL to Phoenix to San Diego to LA everyone was saying Roll Tide both before and after game. He had his Mark Ingram jersey on, and I was in my houndstooth. You would have thought we were rock stars. It was really funny!
I don't know if that many people hate Texas or if they just wanted to go with the favorite. Some were fellow Bama fans, and I swear any city not in the N'east was flooded with Bama fans at the ATL airport. There must have been some strange traveling combinations and itineraries because our fans were going all over to get to this game (Phoenix, any CA airport, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Dallas, Salt Lake, Cincinnati, Memphis, even some Florida airports, etc....).
I had so many fellow SEC fans come up and wish us luck and let us know they were pulling for us. Almost made me feel guilty...not!
I didn't see any Texas fans until getting to stadium. It looked like it was going to be all Alabama before the game, but I think it really ended up being close to 50/50. Funny thing was Alabama fans were in their seats 2+ hours before kickoff. Texas fans not so much, maybe 30 mins before.
It was neat to be around a program that seemed to have mutual respect for our program. Of course we had a few Texas jerks around us too, but that seems to be the case no matter where we go.
