🏈 How do you guys view the Bama-Florida rivalry?

Florida is only Alabama's rival when they stand between Alabama and their goals IMO, but when it comes to Auburn or Tennessee I would be willing to pull for almost any team to beat them. In fact I have always said that if the Taliban were to play Auburn I would be forced to pull for the Taliban.

That feeling does not hold true for Florida today except when Spurrier was there. After Spurrier left Florida it became much easier to actually pull for Florida especially in games like Oklahoma, Miami and Florida State.

Florida ranks below LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina and even Miss State on my list now...

I agree more with this idea, but I don't see how anyone can say this isn't a rivalry. It's not a team that we play every year, but in any given year there's about a 50/50 chance of the SEC Championship Game being Alabama vs Florida...meaning that more than likely the winner of this game will be playing for the the National Championship.

Even though they don't have nearly the tradition and legacy that we have...there's no doubting that we've played some very important games against them in the last 20 years.

We're only rivals when both programs are at their best, and that's only based solely on the fact that we have an SEC Championship game that both programs happened to have gone to quite a few times. Hell, I don't think we've gotten to an SECCG game and NOT played Florida. In 08-10 it got pretty intense, but once the game was over in 2010 and we solidified our dominance over them it's gone dormant again. I'm sure one day it'll heat up again, but not for a while and especially not with us sticking with an 8 game conference schedule.

Im with ya - I'd love to have a little diversity in the SECCG. Florida has pretty much owned the East since the SECCG has been in place...I wouldn't mind playing the Vols for the SECCG.

State fans would beg to differ. South Carolina doesn't register on my rival meter.

Alabama has more victories against Mississippi State than any other opponent. That's too one-sided to be much of a rivalry.
