One thing I've seen overlooked with the linebacking corps is similar to what we see from the offensive line--Tosh likes to work his 'backers inside and outside so they've got experiences in different positions. We've seen it with Evans, talked about it with Miller (still hearing they'll give him some looks inside this fall,) and it might come into play with Benton.
BENTON BABY! I'd be interested to hear Terry's thoughts on him... Or if he's heard anything. I just loved his HS tape because of his speed, seemed like an ideal LB for today's spread game.
During his recruitment some were projecting him as an outside linebacker (ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports) while Scout had him as an inside backer. Bottom line, he was a consensus top 15 'backer in his projections.
Despite the QB conversations some watch other positions during the spring and A-day.

oke2: He reminds me a bit of Dylan Moses in conversations--he's raised some eyebrows. He's still developing and Bama will need him to continue to do so.
Speaking of...you remember the game Moses had against Mercer? I mentioned it was a great sign, and he had a great game, against that team. There were more than a few that kept saying, "it's Mercer." Well, we know the tale of the tape now and I can see Benton having that kind of game occasionally (as well as that kind of criticism.)
McMillon is an option too. Don't get the feeling the staff see's him as a full time player but in a pinch he's had some live bullets.
The staff hasn't been able to use him as a full time player. He was banged up a lot last season. His story mirrors that of Holcombe--receiving criticism despite injury(s.)
The Moody kid may be a pleasent surprise? Considering how under recruited he was that would have to be a big time steal... Josh Jacobs type..
It's been said a few times that he's looked good since he's been on campus. I'm of the "cautiously optimistic" crowd--let's wait and see what happens with him when the team isn't in 7 on 7's and shells.
Depth chart/rotation:
We're looking at two inside that are dynamic; Wilson and Moses. Benton and Moody are both behind Wilson so we'll see how that order shakes out for the MIKE.
WILL is a little different. We know Moses is the lead guy there. Here's where Miller comes into play. If he can handle the inside position he very well may end up as the #2 guy. Davis has been running behind Moses as well.
Here's where it gets interesting to me. Lewis was playing outside (SAM) so who moves there? Miller has played SAM and as we've discussed could get some looks at WILL this fall. Mosley saw a lot of action outside last season. Parks has been showing a lot of potential outside since he's joined the team and then we've got Enoma.
At JACK, Anfernee Jennings. I think that's where we'll end up finding Chris Allen and I also expect Tosh to "cross train" him for the strong side linebacker.
If they are in base, I'm seeing Jennings and Miller outside, Moses and Wilson inside. And, as you can see, there are a number of personnel groupings we could see for the 2's.
