Wow....pretty tough article on them, but true.
I just knew that Fran would have them at least contending within a year or two for the Big 12 South. aTm being a military school seemed to fit in with his regimented mentality and approach to how he did things. When fRan was with us I liked how he prepped the team and seemed to be very well organized. I remember when asked about the no movie on Friday night before games and no talking at meals, he responded with this answer. Not a direct quote, but he said we prepare 9 months out of the year for a 12 week stretch. We need to be focused and have our mind on our job that is taking place the next day.
I really don't understand what the deal is with aTm and why they can't make a go of it. Granted I think they screwed the pooch on the post fRan hire. IMO they could land someone like a Will Muschamp, Jimbo Fisher etc and lock them in. If someone comes in and proves to be able to win, then there aren't too many institutions out there with more money. No doubt aTm has the money to keep a good one. Only way they would really lose a coach is if he goes Pro. aTm has the money, facilities, and talent within the state to compete IMO.
