🏈 Hot seat coaches: Top 8 guys who are fighting for their jobs in 2014

i will go out of the normal as usual here and say Gus Malzahn - Gene Chizik at least won them a National Championship and Auburn was ready to run him off after an 8-5 season the next year

Let Auburn lose 4 games and see how many are jumping off the Gus Bus

LSU
Mississippi State
South Carolina
Ole Miss
Texas A&M
Georgia
Alabama

I can easily see 5 loses out of just those teams listed

Muschamp I get, and Hoke. Holgorson, yes and Pellini I would have higher on the list.

Charlie Weiss? Give me a break. If KU went 6-6 they would build a statue for Charlie. Mike London? Virginia has an exaggerated sense of their football importance if they are heating his seat up. Chow, maybe. Mullen has stated longer than most coaches do at Stark Vegas, and has had some success. I think even the most rabid of Bulldog partisans would be ok with 7-5 and thrilled with 8-4.

Butch Jones should be safe for this year, but if the Vols don't show some improvement the grumbling will begin.

7-5 I have a hard time seeing.

There is one thing I can't escape. Only once in their history have they been able to put back-to-back 10(+) win seasons together (late 80's under Dye.) I have a hard time seeing them with sustained success as history suggests they won't.

I'll tell ya what though. If Arkansas grabs a W and then Kansas State does as well they'll be headed into LSU at 2-2. Oh boy...

Charlie Weis' fat ass has been on the hot seat ever since he took a head coaching position. Everyone calls him a genius and this and that, but he has been one of the worst coaches I have ever seen in my 30 years of life. Not only is he an asshole, he is a perfect example of what the difference in the NFL and college are. No one likes the guy, he can't win, and he is only somewhat decent when someone is watching over him and he can focus on about a tenth of what a head coach has to deal with.

How about this one: LSU underachieved slightly in 2012, and their 2013 team was definitely below expectations. They do appear to have major QB issues. If the slip to say 8-4 does it get hot for Les?

If the four losses were to SEC teams I think there would have to be a few factors included as well. The game against Bama an embarrassing blowout and one of the losses coming at home against a Kentucky team or them having back-to-back losses to Ole Miss (homecoming in BR.)

They face Florida, Auburn, A&M, and Arkansas on the road this season so that would factor in I'd think.

And, let's remember they were 3-5 in conference play the year following their last NC. I don't recall him getting a lot of heat then but that luxury of winning a ring has likely lost a lot of its luster considering Jan. of 2012.
