📝 Hill decommits leaving some question marks on how the receiver class finishes.

@TerryP oh boy...where was he this weekend?

I wouldn't say he is Bama bound just yet...

I am sure he is having to wait for a spot to open just like Lawrence Cager. I imagine only one will have a spot if one becomes available. I still think Cager is a little higher on the board.

[HIDE-REPLY]In our report earlier today, wide receiver Lawrence Cager told TI that during their visits to Tuscaloosa this weekend, fellow receiver K.J. Hill of North Little Rock, AR told him that before he committed to Arkansas, he was privately committed to Alabama.
Following the Alabama visit today, Hill tweeted: "I know this will disappoint many, but after careful consideration I am re-opening my recruiting and de-committing from Arkansas!!"

The 6-0, 190-pound Hill, who runs a 4.4 40, is scheduled to make an official visit to Ohio State this coming weekend. He has an official set to Arkansas on 1/30.

Cager also offered some insight on Patterson, LA star receiver Daylon Charlot, who was visiting Tuscaloosa this weekend. Charlot, a former Tide commit, is down to Alabama and LSU.

"I think he's going to sign with Alabama from the way he was talking," Cager said of Charlot.

Make of this what you will...

  • posted on an arkansas board by kj hill's stepdad....
This is my last post here. Though I feel I owe none of you explanations concerning our son or anyone in our family, I will give you this...our kid made his decision based on many things that a board will never know. Most of you have such a hate for kids in these situations, that it wouldn't matter what transpired between the kid and the school, coaches etc., I shouldn't have to say this to grown people, but things happen in life to people, that don't happen to you! That's because you are not them!! Which in turn, means you couldn't possibly understand what that person is dealing with in his/her life situation. I'm sick of most ofyou, as much of you claim you are of my family. Contrary to what was said, as far as I could had handled this better, I/we did the best we could in handling this. I will say this for future reference, my family and I have dealt with a lot of kids in this state, as mentors, and they and their families know us. They see how for a football, people in this State will pull their child apart, and make them out to be an evil being, no matter their character. Many have said to us, why would you let your son go to Fayetteville, saying those things about y'all? Even while KJ was committed. He stuck with his commitment for us, until he had reason to be concerned. I don't care that he committed to Arkansas at the Hall of Fame...that was set up by someone else for you guys. He's a hard working kid. Worked for all he has gotten, and don't owe none of you nothing. With that being said, there are others watching how you treat these kids with all this hatred and anger, and I've heard them say they will not allow their child to attend Arkansas. We want our child to be happy, more than make any of you happy. Yeah..maybe I / we could have handled it better, according to some of you, but that's your damn opinion, which, at this point, means nothing to us. Cause in the end, we realize that the majority of you don't really give a damn about us or our family. Just how much you could get out of our kid to help your favorite team win..and that's the truth. In the end, we will be ok, I promise you that. We made it here without you, and will continue to make as we always have..with God & family

^^^ Wondering the same thing!^^^^ I believe all 3 are definite takes( Charlot, Hill, Cager in that order). Mixon may be the wildcard. I believe it all comes down to the final number we take 27 or 28. Right now according to 247Sports, we sit with 26 commits. That number doesn't include Bo as a back counter. I think we all are in agreement that 1-2 will be encouraged to look elsewhere. Those are probably Moton and Custis. That would drop us to 24. We have heard consistently that we are looking to add 1 more elite playmaker and a true elite OT. Here is where it gets FUN!! At WR, we have Charlot, Hill, Cager, Mixon as wildcard. At OT, Richmond, Prince, and Valentine-Okeke. Charlot, Hill, and Cager all seem as though they are on the verge with Cager wanting to but having to wait for the go ahead from the staff. Rivhmond was supposed to have been here last Friday but cancelled at the last minute. He is committed to Ole Piss and now seems locked in to the Rebel Black Bears. Prince is a Maryland kid that BAMA is fighting against the home state school. The big mover is Valentine-Okeke. This kid moved from Nigeria in 2013 and just started playing football. He moved to a 5* in 247Sports latest rankings. The Crystal Ball says BAMA has the lead for his services. Going to be a wild last couple of weeks!!

A snippet from an interview with Hall's father:

Now, just over two weeks before signing day, the Tide has surged to the top of his list.

"I feel confident in saying right now that Alabama is the leader," says Hill's stepfather, Montez Peterson.

"We had been to Alabama before. We thought we knew what to expect. But this visit exceeded expectations. I've got to give them credit. It was better than we expected."

Peterson says everything about the visit was exceptional. But above all was Tide first lady Terry Saban.

"She was definitely the highlight " Peterson says. "All the people at Alabama, from the other coaches to the support staff, they all rave about her. She was the first person we met when we approached the front door of the football complex. She greeted us. She was a very warm, genuine person. She was like my aunt. It was like I'd known her all of my life."
