🏈 Hey Tidefans vets..........

There are idiots in each and every fan base. Why is it that the idiots are usually the most vocal and most listened to in situations like this?

I would say to a person on this board, at least the one's I know here, do not feel like race plays any part in this discussion. I mean come on! How long has it been since Walter Lewis broke that barrier?

As far as Saturday is concerned, McCarron looked looked good and Sims had some good moments as well but just not as many as AJ. I am sure the coaches aren't ready to throw in the towel on anyone yet and a lot will be dictated as to how practice plays out this week. It is worth noting that some players just practice better than in real-game situations. Not saying that is the case with Sims but just a thought in the infancy of his Alabama career.

With DuBose, we had what I would call reverse discrimination. He'd play the more talented guy and it wasn't well received because people disagreed with his opinion. I'm not saying his opinion was right, but it was his opinion.

The race card being thrown into this issue really isn't as bad as some would believe. Granted, we are recruited against with the card "Alabama doesn't play black QB's." That was one of the lines Winston had this season from a former QB that happens to be coaching at FSU.

There are internet posters that throw that into the equation. The staff doesn't.

I NEVER wanted to make it seem like I was talking about the coaching staff at all, I was sayin its "fans" (and I put fans in quotations because I dont call anyone that wants/doesnt want a player to play because of their color a real fan) that are saying this stuff.

Anybody that would suggest that Saban wouldn't play a QB based on color is a moron...Rohan Davey...Marcus Randell... JaMarcus Russell

i don't understand how any seasoned football fan could watch those two QBs play on saturday and NOT come out of there knowing that AJ is the better choice to lead the Tide this season.

that isn't to say that Sims won't be a QB starter at Alabama or that he is no good. He just simply isn't ready to be "the guy" yet.

Because they are never playing with the same cards. Line shifts, different RB's. A lot goes into it, right?

The lines were jumbled alot Saturday. Barrett played 4 different positions if my memory serves me correctly. That meant C.K. in and out, Warmack in and out, Steen in and out, and Vlachos. Mc Carron did look the most comfortable at times and did have a better sense of the internal clock going off in his head.

It certainly seemed that way. I'm still of the thought it'll be AJ going into Arkansas.

However, there is one thing I keep reminding myself. Is Sims a gamer? IF so, I wouldn't expect the "lights to go on" against a team like Kent St. Against a team like Penn State? National stage? We'll likely learn a few things this weekend. On more than one front...

1. All coaches desire to have back ups who have had success in a game, and success can only come through having playing time. CNS has back ups with experience at almost every other position, so rotation is reasonable when one looks at it this way ... to a point.

2. Rotating QB hurts nothing, until it hurts something. CNS had the luxury of not having A1 QB play on Saturday. When fielding your #2 threatens a "W", I suspect his #1 will be made clear to everyone.

QUESTION: Goes Penn State play us close enough to force CNS into playing only one QB?

(Don't be surprised to see both getting snaps again in two weeks ... just before SEC play begins.)
