šŸˆ Here's one of those things that puts this season in perspective: an opinion of a LSU fan.

I don't even lurk on Tigerdroppings; just to make that clear.

I grabbed this quote from another LSU site in a discussion of the BCS after Saturday's loss. Understand these parameters. The quote I'm going to refer to in this post is from the thread starter, it's a thread titled "BCS Shakeup - What it All Means (1 Loss SEC vs Undefeated Ohio State)"

The first sentence in the first post reads, "Bama is not out of the running yet."

Take all of that as context, ok?

Here's the post I want you guys to read:

Ok, now Bama has to hope for both FSU and Ohio State to both lose next week to get a shot at playing the winner of the SEC CG.

That is what they are reduced to.

Duke, it is time for you to go the **** away.

Don't forget, FSU could still lose Winston before the Duke game if the DA decides on if they have a case or not. That would allow Duke to have a chance at victory.

Look for Bama boosters to line the pockets of this DA in Tallahassee.

XXL, you know this guy...but let's set that aside.

Look at the bolded text folks.

We've got one loss, we are out of the national title picture—almost—and will likely end this season ranked #2 or #3 in the nation (assuming a bowl win.)

This is what we've been reduced to.

Is that sinking in with anyone?

Terry, I told someone basically the same thing this morning. "You know, it's really bad being a Bama fan," I began. "It seems we always lose a game." We could be assigned bleaker fates.

The State Attorney in FL is under "special pressure" to delay things as long as possible. This story has faded from being the lead, but it is being closely monitored by a lot of people. FSU cannot afford to lose JW and win BCS, but they should handle Duke easily.

I've been following it closely for a variety of personal reasons. And I have heard similar reports.

Let's be real though .. he's not getting charged. He's a star athlete at a number 1 school on the brink of a championship .. There could be photos and videos and witnesses testimonies of a rape but he wouldn't get charged ..

Maybe I'm just cynical.

RE: the LSU fan .. So, so, so telling. Man, we suck now guys .. 4th in the nation? Orange Bowl likely? OUCH. We have really fallen on hard times!! These are tough times to be a Bama fan, all right! :icon_twisted:

It is very unlikely JW gets charged. The only unknown is the political pressure put on the people the State Attorney answers to.

It was one game! Losing this game does not mean everything is over and the code has been cracked. I suspect everyone from this team that is still here next season will be highly motivated to follow the process.

I can't recall from whom, or where, but I do recall reading a stat where it said roughly 90% of cases like this, involving college athletes, don't end up going to court or end up in a formal charge phase.

Very difficult cases to prosecute. From the outside looking in.....it appears there is a female claiming she had non-consensual sex with Winston and his DNA was collected from her. She was possibly drunk....etc. One better have a little more evidence to go along with that before charges are brought.....and that DA probably has dozens of cases similar on his desk and Winstons isn't anymore important.

Them boys have got a for real tenured "watermelon" over there and he is one of their more lucid members.

I've been around there for a long time; one of the first members. The "lucid members" are seldom seen in some conversations.

I'm not one to use the word "processed" when talking about coaching staffs or fan bases. But, in this case...

Truth be told, some of them have had the Auburn beaten out of them...they get more out of a Bama loss than they do their own success.

I vehemently disagree with his lucidity when it comes to anything with any relation to Bama...and most conversations will, at some point, turn to Tuscaloosa.
