šŸ’¬ Here’s a handy flow chart that explains how @espn covers every ā€œsportsā€ story. Stay woke, y’all.

It's such a bad analogy in the first place. Whether a person is black or white it just doesn't fit and it would be better to compare college scholarships with something less oppressive.

That would have been great, if it did not come from the most racist person covering college athletics. KK-Klay Travis.
Outside of an article here and there my exposure to Travis is very limited--purposefully. What makes you say he's the most racist person covering college athletics? That's quite a strong statement considering the Jason Whitlock's and Jemele Hill's of the world.

He's definitely said some pretty questionable and race-baiting things in the last few years but my problem with him is I don't think he's racist at all. Let me explain that. We're talking about a guy that is an admitted life-long democrat that voted for Obama twice. I remember reading last year a POLITICO piece on him that pointed out that he made sure to point out his book shelf that was full of tons of civil rights era books and a huge poster hanging on his home-studio of a Black Panther that was convicted for murdering a police officer...

None of that is something Travis would want to brag about to his current listenership/viewers. Really the past three years there is a segment of people that Travis has been catering to, they are very loud and I think some people might refer to them as "deplorable." He race baits and stirs shit up more than people like Stephen A. or Jemelle Hill ever could even think about and the problem is I dont think he believes a word of the bullshit he says. His own wife has said that he just says shit to rile people up and it makes even her cringe sometimes.

I've said on more than one occasion I hold a degree of respect for Travis. Like Finebaum, he's good at what he does. While I don't respect a lot of his content, you can't deny what he does works.

That said, saying "he race baits and stirs shit up more than people like Stephen A. or Jemelle Hill" isn't something I can agree with. This very thread contains a quote from Smith where he's describing collegiate basketball as slave owners. He's literally just called 100's of programs racist. That's race baiting in its purest form.

I find one thing to be a bit ironic this morning. As soon as I walked in the house after work this morning I turned on the TV to see what the temp was and then flipped over to ESPN's Sportscenter. A commercial was on: one I've seen more than a dozen times featuring a lady that's "rapping" or "beat boxing." The main gist of the commercial is don't judge until you understand the origin. I get that. The vast majority don't know the origin of the acronym RAP is "rhythm and poetry." I get its origin as well as understanding how some of it has been perverted by groups like NWA (and their kill the cops rhetoric.) I'm left wondering why this isn't a two way street. Every day we're seeing people who have a stance and refuse to listen or even attempt to understand another's point of view.

And as a side note: IF any of the three are really concerned about people being discriminated against, where was the outcry when the coach wasn't hired because he was Jewish? Personally, I didn't hear a peep from any of them.

Yes, he is a good troll. No, I don't respect that.

See, here is the problem. You've already acknowledged that you dont read or listen to Travis, but you can still tell me he isn't as much of a race baiter as Stephen A.? Why? Because of an out-of-context screen cap? Stephen A. never said that college basketball had anything to do with slave owners. Spencer Haywood, a former NBA player made a controversial statement where he compared college b-ball to slavery, they were discussing it on First Take. If I'm not mistaken, Stephen A. called it ridiculous (in fact, he said that it trivializes actual slavery and said that he never hears Jewish people comparing ANYTHING to the holocaust and anytime a black person compares something like college basketball to slavery its disrespectful to the history of African Americans), just like he called it ridiculous when an NBA player compared NBA owners to slave owners last year. Travis got exactly what he wanted out of that Tweet and even you went along with it.

And I find it beyond ironic you brought up the refusal to listen or even attempt to understand anothers point of view, when you couldn't be bothered to find out "Did Stephen A. really say that or was Travis doing exactly what Birdman says he does?"
