I'm not the only one thinking of this possibility.

Bama dropped from 1st to 3rd in the computer rankings. Alabama's six computer rankings are 1st, 1st, 3rd, 4th, 4th, and 5th.

The computers don't like Florida. Their computer ranking is 6th. The six computers have Florida 3rd, 4th, 6th, 6th, 6th, and 7th.

If Florida beats Alabama, in the minds of 4 computers, they will not be beating the #1 team.

On top of the computer rankings, you now have a situation where most of the sportswriters and coaches in the country think Texas is getting ripped off.

I'm not saying it will happen for certain. If Florida plays well and beats Bama by a little or a lot, they will go to Miami. But if Florida struggles and looks unimpressive but manages to squeak out a win, do not be surprised if the coaches and sportswriters feel a lot of sympathy for Texas and seek to re-right the wrong and give Texas another chance against Oklahoma.

Of course, if Florida does struggle, we will beat them unless we struggle worse. So the odds of Florida playing badly and winning are microscopic.

The day anyone finds themselves agreeing, or being on the same side of a thought, as Gattis...

Facts, which Gattis seemingly chooses to ignore.

13 more points and Florida is ranked #2 in the Coaches Poll. A win over Bama, gets them far more than that.

Florida is fourth in both the Harris and coaches polls, which comprise two-thirds of the BCS formula. And in the final third, the computers, the Gators remained sixth.

Florida is ranked #2 in the Harris Poll...which leads me back to the first sentence here...

The day anyone finds themselves...

Probably moot anyway, since Florida won't play badly and win.

It isn't just Gattis. Here's the quote from ESPN:

"That raises the question: Is it still certain that Florida reaches the BCS National Championship Game by simply beating No. 1 Alabama on Saturday?

While there's obvious reason for Gators fans to be concerned, it remains highly unlikely that No. 3 Texas will stay ahead of Florida with many voters if UF wins the SEC title. If Oklahoma goes on to win the Big 12 championship, chances are good that some (if not most) of this week's Longhorns supporters will move the conference champion back ahead of UT on next week's ballots.

Also, with Alabama-Florida being a 1 versus 2 matchup in the Harris poll, and the Gators trailing No. 2 Oklahoma by only 12 points in this week's coaches' poll, it's probable that Florida will move to No. 1 in both polls if it wins the SEC title. That would pretty much ensure the Gators reach the top 2 of next week's BCS standings.

But if Florida wins the SEC and somehow doesn't climb higher than second in one of the polls, there's a chance Oklahoma and Texas could have a rematch for the BCS title."

The writers voted in the Harris poll before they saw what was gonna happen to Texas. I'm just saying, don't be surprised if they get a lot of sympathy votes.
