Forgive me but why was this new rule implemented? I understand people can get hurt but come on its freaking football for crying out loud. I've seen this new rule change a drives momentum on teams over the weekend and I just don't get it. The same with the new kickoff rule in fear players collide too fast. Boohoo it's a mans sport and I bet if you asked the players, you know the ones actually out there putting their bodies on the line, they would say these rules are for powder puff football. If they are going to continue deminishing the excitement of the sport to lean on the side of safety then they might as well force teams to play on Xbox next year.
Sorry for the rant but these new rules irk me. The players of yesteryear are rolling over in their graves back when pads were non-existent and leather helmets were the norm. I hope this new helmet rule does t come back to bite us. As a former football player I never liked my headgear being overly tight. Personal preference and I wished they would let the men on the field make their own choices. They are grown men afterall.
