Good for him. That dude has an amazing spirit and keeps on ticking.

BTW I still feel bad that years ago I accused him of being a drunk, not knowing about his stroke (or was it a heart attack). Either way, we've moved on :rolf:

Great , I'm a firm believer in these guys staying till THEY are ready to leave ..... all too often you see people complaining about these old guys , not thinking that this is their lives . We all know what usually happens when old people slow down ..... I know it wasn't so much vitriol toward corso but Vern poor guy ....

Desmond got an extension as well. Looks like they're locking in the GameDay crew. GameDay is probably the only show left on ESPN I enjoy watching...but to be fair, I haven't really given any of their new programs a chance.

They ruined the College Football Final when they broke up May/Davis/Holtz and replaced them with Galloway/Kannel/Virk.

I have always enjoyed Corso's shtick, but he needs to retire. He has not been the same since the stroke and they have him doing less and less. Outside a little at the beginning and the picks at the end, he really doesn't get involved in the talking about X and O's like he used to. I really wish they would hire Les Miles to take Corso's spot and let him pass the mantle of craziness on to the mad-hatter.

As far as this being Corso's livelihood, that is not necessarily the case. While in the last decade or so big money contracts are the norm for all these ESPN celebs......Corso was/is director of business development at Ticonderoga Pencils. That is why he always has a pencil with him on set. (Not so fast, my friend)

Great move by Dixon Ticonderoga to let him go on ESPN, according to Corso they weren't going to initially. I'd be willing to bet it's paid off for them.
