Or whatever it'll be called. Who has heard anything about this? I've heard that a former barner is going to talk about being paid while playing, I think his name is Mcglover or Glover, not sure. I also heard that there will be other players on the show from different Universities. Is there anything to this? Or is it a piece about how student-athletes should be getting paid and how they already are, by most Universities, one way or another?

There's a thread on the board about Auburn right now...it references the HBO involvement.

A couple of the key players in LA have said they've been approached to be on camera. As of a week ago, one said, "We're going to wait and see how this plays out."

Has something changed in the past seven days? Not publicly.

Kenny Irons tweeted that Stanley McGlover tweeted about being interviewed for the special. Said Stanley talked about pay for play.

HBO has been sniffing around the SEC schools. Wouldn't surprise me if most of the SEC is implicated in some way.

no truth to the Keys rumor. It was started lock, stock, and barrel on an Auburn message board. The only people repeating it, are those who read it on an Auburn message board...including a blogger - who is an Auburn grad that read it on an Auburn message board.

There is also rumor on Auburn boards that Javy and Prothro were paid.

Auburn rumor mongers must have forgotten that Prothro was a 1 or 2 star who wasn't expected to qualify and almost had to walk on, and Javier's only other offer was FIU. Pro's dad was a barn fan and iirc his brother played at Auburn. No chance there was p4p.

Shula was a lot of things...dirty recruiter was not one of them.

HBO never interviewed Chris Keys and was never part of the story this is all BARN ..the Keys rumor was started on a barn forum.

Yes Ali Sharieff beat his tail, and Keys ended up with a broke leg. He was unable to play because of it. Not sure he ever seen the field his one year here if so it would have been special teams. He was a 4 star bust.

I do not recall him playing anywhere else after he left here and that was not Alabama's fault the kid had problems. Ali Sharieff and his family took him in his senior year and allowed them to live with them. Both Choose Alabama although many expected Keys might sign with LSU.

Ali Sharieff was one of the finest individuals we ever had to wear the Crimson Jersey he was a great volunteer off the field and worked with school children. He was an asset to Alabama.

Chris Keys was a waste of talent despite Ali trying to help him. AU has been saying stuff about Keys for years but while Keys has a reason to not be happy about the way things worked out for him, he only has himself to blame.

I think it turned out he was just overrated and he thought he could get by in college on talent alone like he did HS. He quickly found out he could not but was not ready to make the sacrifice to improve. If I recall both compliance and the NCAA checked him out before he enrolled.

I don't believe anyone picked up Chris Keys after he was booted from the Alabama team. Lets see, five years and never heard from again?

Oh! he transferred to Arizona Western College and no one picked him up after JC ball.

I've read the Keys rumor is getting fueled on a LSU forum as well. Makes sense, a lot of Auburn fans frequent that forum and LSU fans undoubtedly still hold some ill-will about Keys recruitment.

I read that Jay Barker was giving it legs this morning on JOX. I don't listen to JOX, but I hear Jay never goes to bat for Alabama. I don't get it. Al del Greco is a huge auburn homer, and apparently Jay just sits idly by.

I listened to them the morning of the Alabama-Auburn game as I was driving thru B'ham. Jay seemed to have no backbone whatsoever. Al slammed Alabama left and right and nothing from Jay. Just don't get it.

The worst day in jox history was the day they hired that big nosed goob
