When LSU lost to Kentucky this season, the Tigers were ranked #1. Last week, of course, LSU -- once again ranked number one -- lost to Arkansas.

Has the same team ever before been knocked out of the number one ranking twice in the same season?

It happened to the 1984 Nebraska team. They lost early as the #1 team, climbed back up to #1 and lost again.

This is a great site.

2003 Oklahoma lost twice as number one, but it didn't affect their ranking. They lost to K-State in the Big 12 CG but didn't drop from #1, then they lost to LSU in the NC game.

It's probably happened more than this, but LSU's not alone in dual heartbreak.
