Until we have an actual set of details on the changes, I almost have to assume that there is a lot more to this "reduced" buyout. Maybe he feels he has to coach at Auburn another year for some other reason (either to position himself for another job or for some other unknown reason). Or maybe he is reducing the initial buyout amount in exchange for a larger yearly payment going forward but a smaller overall payout. I am trying to come up with any reason he wouldn't just dare them to fire him.
The supposed details are from what I heard on the news last night, he can’t fire Chip Lindsey, the staff won’t have buyouts, and Gus’ buyout is reduced.
Gus is an egomaniac that truly believes he can right the ship while continuing to micromanage things. He is a lame duck staring 5-7 or 6-6 dead in the face. Oregon to open, @LSwho, @UF, @A&M, UGA, and BAMA to close. None of those teams have the issues that the Barn has!!
