🏈 Harbaugh making 5th year seniors try out

You're both correct. I hope the press gets more into this story. Just playing devil's advocate though...Those are players who helped Hoke reach his demise. I wonder if Harbaugh has any worries about them. According to Wilbon and Kornheiser, three have already left/transferred.

I wonder if he'll do this next year. If so, people in the Little 10 can STFU about roster management.

I have an issue with it. These 5th year guys stayed when the going wasn't good and tried to make better. They easily could have jumped ship and transferred out.
As for roster management, it is what it is. Weed out the older ones to make room for "your recruits".

I guess I should say more to what I said earlier. According to the article, Heitzman already had a degree and was working towards his post graduate. From a commitment standpoint, I don't think the University owe's him anything, certainly not Harbaugh. These guys should already have a degree or be very close to finishing.

They were 11-2 in 2011, 8-5 in 2012, 7-6 in 2013, and 5-7 in 2014. It wasn't that bad in Michigan during the Hoke years, I've certainly seen alot worse.

Keep in mind, the Big Ten was the 1st major conference to guarantee scholarships...yeah, that's some funny shit if you actually read the fine print, lots of vague details and they left it up to the Universities to have flexibility to support this. The Big Ten has a 25 person limit, but they do allow for oversigning by 3 players. Said differently, they put lipstick on a pig and sold it as something it really wasn't.

I have been in Grand Rapids all week and returned to where I live in southern Ohio. The Michigan fans were very nice and cordial to me even when I had on my Alabama shirts. I have a friend who wore his Ohio State shirt one day, was cussed out by one person and another refused to get on the elevator when he saw the shirt. LOL

As to the thread, I have no problem with a little roster trimming of "dead weight" no matter the year of classification.

Maybe, well actually probably, I don't understand "trying out" for the team. Isn't each position up for grabs during the spring especially with a new sheriff in town? I don't have a problem with shedding the dead weight, if that's what they are.
