🏈 HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa...Tennessee

So I had a bit of fun with the title of the thread but all jokes aside, they looked like a bucket of used ass last night. Sure, it is the first game of the season and you have to work out the kinks and jitters but you have to lay the obvious lack of preparedness on the doorstep of Butch. You would never see a Harbaugh,Meyer,Saban etc lead team come into a season and lay such a turd as TN did last night.

Granted Butch is no Harbaugh,Meyer,Saban but with all of the fanfare and hoopla surrounding TN this pre-season, that game did not do much for the confidence.

My opinion.......Hurd and Dobbs are almost all of their offense while everyone else appears to be mediocre. The play calling looked like Auburn's "Cam" offense with the exception of not being productive. The D line look weak (to me) and the secondary seemed unsure of what to do most of the night.

Again, it is early but if they are going to take the next step this season, they better tighten up.

That game would have gone much different had the Appy State kicker not missed that extra point early on. ASU would have had a 14-6 lead when Tennessee got the TD in the second half. They would have had to have gone for 2 just to tie the game at 14. Chances are, they would not have gotten the 2 point conversion and would have lost 14-12.

UT looked terrible. Their o line will get destroyed by the top SEC defenses. Dobbs is extremely overrrated and Butch got out-coached by a coach that didn't really do a very good job. App State was totally one-dimensional and their clock mngt was horrific.

Buzzcut may not work out up there. I really enjoy watching tennersee lose... maybe even more than auburn.

even though they "won" last night... we all know they lost.

I know App St is a good team, but the O line of UT outweighed those guys by like an average of 40 pounds. I agree, if UT doesn't do a better job in the trenches they will have a long season. I couldn't believe how bad Dobbs played, he was sacked multiple times having only been sacked 5 times last year (according to the announcer). Plus the int he threw was a rookie mistake. Not something you do with as much experience as he has. Throw the ball away and keep your team in contention for the FG, at the very least. Bad mental mistakes.

I have a hard time believing that. In Sacks Allowed last season, UT was a middle of the pack SEC team. While Bama played two more games than UT, after 13 games I'm betting UT had more sacks allowed than Bama last year. Hell, worse than Auburn.

What is continuing to make me laugh a little is the thought "Tennessee canceled classes yesterday in preparation for that fiasco last night."

The other day one of our local sports radio channels had the guy that calls the UT games on and he offhandedly said that they were penciling in wins against Florida and Georgia.....I almost drove into a tree when I heard that, even the host was like "hold on a minute there"..... Delusions of grandeur

If any of you have driven through the speed trap know as Dothan, Al. on the way to PCB you most likely have past a locally owned restaurant, named
"Dobb's BBQ." I have a feeling that is exactly what Tim Williams and crew will be eating the 3rd Saturday of October... Dobbs Ribs and Butt...barbequed in molasses.

Grew up there......some of the best Brunswick Stew you ever tasted comes from Dobb's.

Urban's guys have laid down a pile in their opener more than once. Two years ago they absolutely invented a way to lose at home to Va. Tech.

UT has to be very disappointed in their OL play. Maybe trying too much finesse rather than exploiting their obvious size advantage.

Tried to warn volnation years ago what butch was doing with all those bricks.
