The question has crossed my mind a few times. There's a number of choice that could be made prior to Saban's arrival in Tuscaloosa.

I saw mention of Andrew Zow being on campus this week. The question crossed my mind again thinking about Zow, Watts, two-quarterbacks playing within the same system and what it mean to be team-oriented...a few random thoughts, ya know?

I do think it'd be a good watch to hear Zow speak on what it's like after Bama, coaching in high school, etc.

*And I wonder if we'd see someone complain about Bama featuring a current high school coach in videos calling it "unfair advantage" or something akin.*

George Teague would be someone I'd love to see from an old school perspective. Andrew Zow would be huge as well.

Recruiting - Javier Arenas (always a good listen!)
Bring on the 1st rounders - talk about the trials / tribulations of being a 1st rounder.
Give Barrett Jones and Eryk Anders a platform.
Circle of influence / friends - Rolando, Trent.

While Zow would be a good choice, I think his having 2-3 guys that we are currently looking at would throw a kink in that plan. Guys like James Carpenter, a JUCO guy that did good at UA and in the NFL, Jesse Williams, a JUCO guy that excelled but sickness kept him from NFL stardom, John Parker Wilson,or even a Rashaad Johnson that came in under Shula but survived and bought in under Saban.

Gene Stallings, Shaun Alexander, Demeco Ryans, Rolando McClain (that would be very interesting), Javier Arenas, Donta Hightower, Amari Cooper, Derrick Henry, man I could go on all day. I would like to see a good mix of old school and more modern guys.

You might could say that about Shaun Alexander except for the whole former NFL MVP thing.

Not to totally scam your thread, but one thing that stuck out to me in the latest episode was Julio talking about how tough he had it (4th qrtr program) as opposed to the guys on campus now.

It was where Saban jokingly talked about getting soft in his old age. Saban even admitted to how much tougher they were. Stated they were changing the culture and trying to establish something new. Saban m.o. as a former coach of ours that had a film made about Junction, Texas. Finding out, who really wants to be here.

As far as guests.....I like the idea of some of the JUCO guys. I would love to hear from Carpenter and Williams. James Carpenter came in and took over for Andre Smith, and we never missed a beat. Had big shoes to fill and did an unbelievable job of anchoring that left side. Smith came in at a time when we were astounded to land a 5* athlete (Shula's last class). Unanimous All-American his junior year, but in comes Carpenter in 2009 and we go all the way to win the national championship. I bet this guy has some awesome stories.
