Guys wants to be great. I think the coaching staff did a great job of using him last year late in the 4th to put games away. This year, I'd love to see him pound the rock up the middle more. Just has to work on getting a full head of steam first. Lower the head and wear out the defense. But of course he did do a great job on sweeps, so I'll just shut up.

No, you're hitting it exactly right. He needs to run lower and behind his pads like Fournette. I don't think anyone is necessarily scared Henry is going to run them over more than just worried about hitting a guy that big and fast. Running East and West he just needs the blocking to get four good steps and he's likely gone. He is s beast when he gets going, but doesn't offer what Yeldon did if he can't get those first few steps. I think he does want it, so I'm excited to see what this year will offer for him, most likely his last in Tuscaloosa.
Whomever the FB next year if gonna be (Nysewander maybe?), I sure hope he can open up holes like Fowler did last year. And I would absolutely love it if they would just run one of these plays with Henry in. Literally, its like you're almost guaranteed 5 yards.
@bamaraider , that is a counter that we do run. In the past, we have had Michael Williams, Smelley, or another TE/H-Back come across the formation and provide the kick out block while the Guard pulls and turns up into the hole.
but if you are, how the hell is that a coaching failure? how do you coach someone on how to push a truck, anyway? i didn't know that was part of the conditioning program at ALABAMA.
looks to me like a guy who just wants to get stronger in his legs than he already is and is doing something about it on his own time.
geez, it's like no matter what some people do there's always someone who's not happy with the way they're doing it. and if something like the way he's pushing that truck in that video makes you upset, angry or mad then maybe you should stop watching things like that.
Eddie Jackson was quoted (or perhaps it was a tweet, can't recall) a week or so ago about how much running the hill had done him in. My first thought was "what hill?" The only one that came to mind was the one that runs beside DCH (E to W) parallel to University. This street ran beside, or through, what I always assumed was Section 8 housing.

@mrchase, I didn't even bother to count the O line. I looked only at the backfield and assumed it was a regular set with a WR out of the picture. Looking at it now though, it looks like a 3 TE set and we have used that in the past.
