Golden Nugget in Las Vegas has Alabama as favorite in five 2017 football games

It’s no secret that Alabama football is prominent in Las Vegas, where patrons of the casinos have the opportunity to express their views of upcoming games…and back those views with (hopefully) expendible cash.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal has reported on the Golden Nugget sports book posting gambling lines on 106 college football games for 2017. With Alabama the 3-1 favorite to win the national championship, there was a natural inclination to pick out the Crimson Tide’s games in what was billed as the “Games of the Year.”

It was a bit of a surprise that the 106 games did not include what many consider to be the regular season game of the year and certainly the top game of the opening weekend, Alabama vs. Florida State in Atlanta on Sept. 2. The only Sept. 2 game on the Golden Nugget early lines was Texas being a 19-point favorite over Maryland.

The sports book lists Alabama as a 12 ½ point favorite over Texas A&M in College Station on Oct. 7, the Tide a 28-point pick over Arkansas on Oct. 14, Bama 24 ½ over Tennessee on Oct. 21, the Tide by 12 over LSU on Nov. 4, and Alabama by 6 ½ over Auburn in Auburn in the regular season finale on Nov. 25.

Nov. 18 – Mercer

Nov. 25 – at Auburn
