My Number 2 all time favorite Player at Bama, Major Ogilvie
All-SEC team in 1979 and Second Team All-SEC in 1980. He was an Academic All-American in 1979. He played on two national championship teams in 1978 and 1979. He played on three SEC Championship Teams in 1977, 1978, and 1979.

That 79’ offense combined with that Bama defense was something truly special. Watching Steadman and Major with their tear away jerseys work the wishbone made that era of Bama football something truly special!

The Italian Stallion, that began my Alabama football following, my very first Alabama jersey was the number 22 when I was a little shaver. They had a whole uniform actually, helmet jersey and pants. That weak ass helmet left many a scars on this dome of mine.

When i got from VN ...my dad got me n him 2 tickets to bama-ole ms....in 71
...was an awesome experience seeing the wishbone....and bama football AGAIN

Collection...been a packrat all my life...and married one.....

My first memories of Bama football was when I was 7 watching #22 in early 70's. He finished 4th in the heisman voting in 1971 and was an all american. I think that was the highest finish for a Bama player under Bear but could be wrong.
