šŸˆ Georgia Tech has been in discussions to sell the naming rights to Grant Field at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

They lost me when they went to turf. Spare me the cost savings and weather perks when it comes to drainage. It's the oldest field in college football, you gotta hold some kind of tradition. Now they want to renname it to the highest bidder, just a slap in the face to college football and shows yet again why the sport is sinking morally.

And people are bitching about Chinese buying up all our farm land…. then there’s the Saudi’s buying all of our sports…. Look out here comes the Koreansā€¦šŸ˜‰

Sewanee's is from 1899, and they bill themselves as the fourth oldest continuously used field.
I didn't even consider them when I was thinking about that comment. And I got a little lost ...

The two Mississippi schools in the SEC? I'd guess they were in the top ten. Neyland. Samford Stadium, maybe?

Now I got to look ...

Samford Stadium, maybe?

Unreal. One of my buddies, Tech booster, wondered if they are gonna lead the team out in a Hyundai Santa Fe now instead of the Ramblin' Wreck.
A Hyundai Sante Fe IS a ramblin' wreck...and it's easy to jack.

I can hear it now...bring Wes Durham back...the Hyundai Sante Fe Steal of the Game goes to #23 with the pick...

The partnership also includes field-naming recognition at Bobby Dodd Stadium, which will now be known as Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field, and sponsorship elements that feature enhancements to boost the experience on gamedays for fans in and around the home of Georgia Tech football.

Hyundai Field at Bobby Dodd Stadium seems better to me, eh?

At first thought, I can't say I'd have a hard time supporting something like Learfield Field at Bryant Denny Stadium—at the right dollar amount.

We've talked about how donors/boosters would react to the NIL funds needed versus keeping the facilities top notch—there's only so much money to go around. Something like that may go a long way in bridging the gap.
