🏈 Game Week~ Wisconsin

I was thinking the same thing about the "preseason curse". Maybe this will be the year we avoid the injury bug for a change.
I was actually thinking yesterday, man except for spring we are doing really well in fall without injury. Bam text on Evans.

Bo may be back later this year to help if we get dinged and I would think they will hold Cam sims out.

No offense, but your last excavation I recall was Coker was out of practice due to stomach flu instead of the injured foot that was the actual reason for his absence. Don't get me wrong, I hope you get one right.

@ttownlaw5 Crow/schitt, whatever you're serving I am happy to feast upon. I'll try and not dive on the panic button next time and wait for all the sources to chime in.

I think this offseason news will go down in history for so many reports that turned out to be something else! I"m so glad to hear Evans will be okay. I hope CNS will use rest of the week to hold team meetings and mental reps to avoid injuries... :D I'm super excited to hear about our players having huge roles in offense/defense. Cyrus Jones, Bateman and Drake having package installed for them... Love it! We're 10 deep on DL and LB... Our walk on are pretty good, Gore and Mosley... Roll Tide!

@CrimsonBoz I've been meaning to ask you this but I forgot. What made the light come on for Coker? What finally clicked for him to have a great practice week? Has his timing on throws got better? How confident CNS and CLK are with Coker as their " starting" Qb for this week?

Can you find out if CLK will be on the sideline this season? Will we see Alec Morris standing near CLK and CNS all the time :) BB too?

I think you are jumping the gun on JC at this point. We won't really know if the "light has come on" for another 1-3 weeks. There have been so many erroneous rumors about QBs the last month, I'm not sure how anyone can take anything as gospel right now.

Boz said it few days ago, and how Coker had real good week of practice... several folks on twitter said he had real good practice.. made lot of good throws and all. I mean we won't know how he'll do this weekend!

Practice isn't a game. I would caution everyone to temper enthusiasm until we actually see QB(s) play. For now I am going on the theory that the staff is trying to pick out the least dirty shirt from the hamper.

Also keep in mind that the scrimmages (including A-Day) were designed around passing with very few running plays. I'm sure we kept the pressure packages simple with little blitzing, but with our front I'm sure the QB still felt heat. The secondary didn't have to concern themselves with much run support either. Not easy conditions for even an experienced QB. Our 'real' offense will be centered around run game and hopefully we can dictate when we throw. That should make for better opportunities for whoever is at QB.

Like he said 81, having a few good practices doesn't translate into a game. He was throwing well. Making snap throws however I need to see this in an adverse moment and I will be ok with it. Lots to be decided and them having multiple packages for the game shows the staffs caution.

Uh, nothing wrong with that.

I guess it remains to be seen. I have been following Alabama football and recruiting closely since the early 80s, and if I have learned anything during that time it is to expect the unexpected with regard to QBs. History shows that the guy with the least "star power" has won the job, by default if anything. So with a gun to my head, I would predict that sometime in the next 3-4 weeks, Alec Morris is the main guy under center. It will be the least popular and most disappointing for the majority of fans, but that's what is most likely to happen, IMO.

Good write up. I'm not convinced until I see it on the field however the safe choice is Morris no doubt.

How many folks would have predicted the likes of Steadman Shealy, Mike Shula, David Smith, Gary Hollingsworth, Jay Barker or Greg McElroy to become Alabama's QB over the 5*s on the roster along with them? The only true high school "stud" I can recall really winning the job was McCarron. It is uncanny.
