That's why I think Morris will be #2, assuming Coker starts. I just can't see Saban "risking" things to a younger guy if the "experienced" guy struggles. I say Bateman is #3 to begin the season. But he's the dude I would like to see starting, in an ideal world.

Pretty much stands to reason that if Coker and Bateman are the more talented of the trio then it would be much harder for Morris to stay at the top of the triangle if those 2 perform well relative to their physical ability

If you don't play, you are automatically redshirted... so the assumption of them not "redshirting" Barnett would mean you expect him to play at some point...

If that's the case, they don't think any of the other QB will make it through the whole year. The only reason to burn that Redshirt, is if you think those reps will give him the ability to take over down the road this year...

Maybe they want to play the more safe guy now in the early half with expectations of Barnett taking over by mid season... Only thing I can think of to burn his redshirt or maybe if they expect to have a outright STUD QB in the next class.... shrug...
