🏈 Game Thread Western Kentucky (Second Half)

It was as flat in the stands. Lots of hand wringing and too quiet. One guy in front was holding his ears....because of the PA speaker that was not loud at all and was a good bit above us. This will give Saban the ammo he was warning about. He will get to see "see I told you" but it is the truth. AJ took too many hits and the oline was nonexistent for the most part. I almost fell asleep before half time but that's what these OOC games do to you. We will be fine and Saban will lite some butts up all week. Not once did I see him blow a gasket so I think in some way he enjoyed this win if only to reaffirm focus to the team and the tasks ahead. Biggest disappointment was Fowler getting hurt. Wish him the best but it didn't look good.

A win is a win. Could be worse. The Barn is in TOTAL meltdown mode right now on the boards.

Offensive line was terrible in protecting AJ on pass plays, that was unacceptable. The run game really wasnt attempted to be established which was frustrating, Lacy looked really good in the touches he had and Yeldon was used more in the passing game than running game. Was kind of just confusing, I understanding wanting to get the passing game going but dont go away from what you do best. Defensively guys were missing tackles too damn much and just overall looked to be unfocused. This cant happen again.

3 things really intrigued me though... 1st, AJ was ON the money with the deep ball, I mean he was dropping them babies like a tear drop. 2nd, Kenyan Drake is FAST. 3rd, was that the wildcat we saw with Sims? It really looked like he was running a bit of a speed/spread option which is obviously not something AJ McCarron is gonna run and kind of a traditional Wild Cat. I really found in interesting that we put Sims in rather than Ely. Has he taken Ely's spot as the #2 or was it just truly wanting to get the Wildcat some work in.
