Probably going to make some people on here mad, but I feel this is not a top 5 team. Looks like Blake Sims is our quarterback and he looks so disorganized in the huddle calling plays. One of the worst teams in the country just completed most of their passes successfully against our secondary. I do not feel good about next week or the season. Hope I am grossly wrong. These players work their tails off to win. I hope they get a little luck, because it is going to be needed to successfully navigate the SEC West this year.

Occasionally the final score of a game is misleading. If this was supposed to be Alabama demonstrating readiness for the start of SEC play, something went awry, especially on defense.

jlabit I agree with you---Bama doesn't look like a championship contender this season. I hope I'm wrong, but that's my assessment so far. They could easily lose three games in the regular season.

Secondary didn't play particularly well for two quarters.

Howard had one catch. The targeting was actual targeting. Stupid move.

Sims looked decent. Coker looked decent, but it's Sims' job. I do believe we are in trouble if we have to sling it more than just the check downs and intermediate.

Saban was just telling him about getting the tempo going because by the time Sims got to the line there was usually 10-14 seconds left on the play lock.

It wasn't as negative as the original comment made it seem. Saban also jawed to Kirby a few times
