🏈 GAME THREAD: LSU v ALABAMA

I need two thing: ne a photo of Harris the QB of LSU on the phone during the game. Also did any of you heard what Gary said right after LSU kickoff the last time? It really tick me off, but I just can't remember what he said. But, it wasn't cold what he was talking about anyway. @TerryP did you hear what he said ?

A'Shawn was special tonight. That whole front 7 is just amazing. A'Shawn, Allen, Reed, Tomlinson, Pettway... Then the pass rushers Anderson and Williams come in and bring the athleticism... It's so fun to watch. For A'shawn to jump over that center, at 320 lbs, land with balance and block the kick... That is incredible. He probably made himself a couple hundred thousand dollars on that play.

Williams had the early sack but also drew a holding call and flushed the QB a few times. He is the most consistent pass rusher I've seen in Crimson since Upshaw.

Honestly LSU has the right idea in the first half... Throw it deep and see what happens. It paid off for them. Our DB's got caught a few times behind the play and paid for it. If we are pointing out weaknesses in this game, Geno Smith in pass coverage is a problem. He's a step slow both physically and mentally. That being said he was terrific in run support which is ironic since he was pegged as the opposite.

That O line was nails. They did their damn thing tonight! Aside form Piersbacher's penalties, not much went wrong up front. Henry is just getting better with time and proving to be the best in the biz... I'm very happy for him because he's worked so hard. Great to see Drake stick it up the gut a few times and not go down easily. He still has a little carelessness in him as seen on that kickoff where he just let the ball bounce around, but today was certainly progress.

Well it's official, the staff has molded Coker into a QB who can play a full game without making stupid throws. He's officially a decent game manager! Which is what we've all basically asked for with this defense. The sacks he's taking are definetly an issue, but at least he's not loose with the ball anymore. He's been a very nice story this year...

Ridley is special...Stewart has moments... Mullaney is steady... And OJ is still invisible. Seems about right.

The ride over wasn't bad but that damn hour+ wait was a bitch!!!
Raining on you as you waited?

Hell, an hour wait ... from University Mall? If it's not raining, I'm walking instead of waiting. Geez ... maybe 2.5 miles if you cut through the neighborhood instead of going all the way down 15th to 10th?

In the rain? Ain't happenin'.

how do cyrus jones and geno smith get playing time

I saw this last night and walked away from it. This morning, I think it bears noting ...

Geno's playing time is likely due to things like ... ok, let's start with the leading tackler on the team in last nights game. He played what I consider to be the most physical game of his career.

The number of tackles and tackle leaders tell you everything you needed to know about this game, look at the difference between lineman vs linebackers.

Now that I have had a few hours rest, let me clear up my post. Normally, I park on 10th Ave at the Norfolk Southern lot. But with the bigger games, if you don't get there 3-4 hours before kickoff, you won't be parking there. The threat of rain didn't help so the wife and I decided to stay dry as long as possible and do the Tide Ride from the Mall. The wait wasn't bad. The line was strung inside through the food court so no rain. The problem came after the game. The buses load and unload on 10th Ave about 50 yards from the South Endzone gates. The line basically strung ALL THE WAY BACK TO Ramma Jamma's! We waited over an hour in the line before boarding a bus. The rain wasn't much. More of a mist than anything. I just wouldn't suggest using the bus service unless you are a very patient person and don't mind gridlock.

When was was working on grad courses I had a duplex a few blocks from where ACA is now. On more than one occasion, instead of fighting traffic, I walked home; three miles, maybe.

Now, I'm certainly not suggesting you should have entertained that idea with your wife (or maybe I am :naughtydevil: )

Now, I do figure this ...

IF I can walk from BDS to my house in weather like there was in the AU v Bama game in 2000 ... a little walk in the rain won't hurt many. ;)

If the ride had been free, we would have walked. $10 a head for the round trip.
