Bama had a major mental letdown on Tennessee's TD drive. They gave up a HUGE return, then they let a receive take a short pass and run it down to the five.

Bama is "very fortunate"---in the words of Vince Dooley----that Tennessee's #11 didn't catch that pass. The Vols would have had first and ten at the Bama twenty. Our D looked lethargic on several plays in the first half, including that one. Like they just relaxed, let up on their intensity.

How's this for a stat, WVU in 14 qtrs of Big-XII play, has allowed 26 TDs and 2 FGs.

Overall, a good half - as long as we're positioned to extend and capitalize on wearing them down later. We'll probably end up giving up 20 points in this game, which I hate, but chances are I'll be lighting a stogie in another 30.

Im still nervous at this point just because of the vols deep throw big play potential. I would like to see a couple of hard sacks on Bray to keep him from getting in to a rhythm. The vols will play over their head a little in this one. They have defended the run better on us than anyone else this season. I hope we can start dominating more upfront and rip off some long runs. When we see this it will be over. Right now they are lingering a little.

What the heck happened on that penalty? Cost Bama a TD. Then they missed ANOTHER field goal! Can't let Tennessee hang around. Need to put them away. Like a heavyweight boxer when your opponent is on the ropes, you smash him in the jaw and knock him out!
