as of today. Up until today, it was unofficial I suppose. This new contract is apparently for the next 2 years, but I honestly don't expect for the game to go back to Friday as long as Saban wants it played on Saturday.
I still don't like it. I understand it from CBS's view...but I HATE the 1:00pm start time. Not everyone has the luxury of having that time slot wide open to do as they please especially on black Friday.
It's been an interesting year with ratings. The BCSNC game set the all time high mark for a cable viewed ball game and on the other hand CBS's audience for SEC games dropped this past season. Yet, on the same end the viewership for that game fell from last year.
(I looked at the numbers just after the game...and, IF I recall correctly it was a 6.9 for Auburn v Oregon and 18.2 for Bama v Texas.)
The same BCSNC game set the all time mark for ESPN3 as well...anyway, the number was 7.5 for the Bama v Auburn game this season.
I didn't mind the game being on Friday. Doesn't make my day any brighter with it being back on Saturday. As long as Bama wins they could play it on whatever day they wish.
