Who is the old man?
Yesterday, Gil Brandt tweeted Saban's extension was 7yr/$49mil.
Kinda looks like Updyke to me.

Will this come down?As the Nick Saban-to-Texas rumor mill continues to churn, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit has offered Alabama fans a bit of a reprieve. Herbstreit went on KESN 103.3 yesterday to chat about the future of Alabamaās current head coach, and made a very definitive statement about what he thinks is going to happen. From dallasnews.com:āThereās no chance. No chance of that happening. Nick Saban will work TV sitting next to us on our set before heāll be the head coach at Texas. Heāll be at Alabama for another five years, and then heāll be working TV after that. I know Nick Saban better than anybody. Itās not going to happen.āSaban did fit in very well on College GameDay last week, so Iām sure the network would love to make room for him on Saturday mornings. Herbstreit is also one of the more trustworthy analysts out there, so his words canāt be discounted. Weāll find out soon enough what Saban plans to do.

Just heard Finebaum on radio state that Texas was sweetening their offer with a share of a NFL team to appeal to Saban's retirement. The twists and smoke never cease.
What NFL team does UT have a share in to offer?

One of their boosters or members of the BOR very well may. Tom Hicks, a name you've undoubtedly heard, used to own part of the Rangers, I believe he still owns the Stars, and either still does or used to own the English soccer team Liverpool.
It's not out of the question...though the question does need answering. I don't know of one.
