Posted in another thread, it appears to be a done deal now with AU's Furr. He's gone, or will be in the A.M.

Now, here's some more on the story of the "fight", which appears to have basically been nothing more than a jumping during practice.

It's all about character at AU though. Furr has questionable characacter...supposedly, so the "character" guys decide to gang rush him. Sweet. ;tr

Furr's beatdown....by his own teammates

Ok, I had no problem with one of the more senior players putting a freshman in line. Practice brawls will happen. Dog piling him? That will build team unity for sure.

You mean they are not walking arm in arm to practice too?
Good to see the vet's at Aubrun setting a good example of leadership...

Nothing better than ruling by fear...

from what I hear it was nothing more than a shoving match and you cant tell me this doesnt go on at Bama as well.

lol A shoving match that kept him out of the rest of practice. That is one heck of a shove.

Rumormongering and heresay on the way, but it is about Auburn, so I don't feel so bad sharing it.

The story as told by another goes along these lines...

Furr was recruited to be a QB, but the first day of practice he was already on the DB chart. He was PO'd and verbal about it, refusing to do the drills and went so far as to call ears a liar.

An assistant coach got ill and said that he needed an attitude adjustment.

At the next available opportunity, they "adjusted" his attitude for him.

A friend of mine that was at the practice said he got hit out of bounds and they started shoving each other. Not much more than he said.

A shoving match that ended up in a pile, him on his hands and knees unable to make it to the injury tent.

Since Furr enrolled in January, was he a backcounter to '07? With him leaving now, that's a spot that won't be available to backfill with a January 09 enrollment - it's gone, right?

From some friends of mine who are Aubs;

Furr was loafing and whining about being hot and tired. Zack Etheridge told him he needed to shut up, pick up the pace and work thru it. Furr smarted off to Etheridge, and Etheridge commenced to kicking his a-double-s. After Ehteridge got him on the ground, for some reason, a few other of the DB's jumped in on it.

Everyone seems to have a practice report. Problem is, everyone's is different.

As far as what really happened, we may never know, and it's not that big a deal anyway I guess. I just felt obligated to link the negative material since it was about Auburn. :D

And yeah, I'm sure fights and scuffles break out at our practices as well. Hopefully no one is getting jumped 5 or 6 on 1 though.

It's funny how Aubarn's been kicking us below the belt every chance they get but when it comes to them, you hear crickets. The boy sounded like he needed an attitude adjustment but how many people did they think it would take. That's just cowardly. You've got the bloods, cripts, and now the Auburnites. :D

I sure wish some our team would have done that too a few of our "bad apples" in the last couple of years.

I think it shows pretty good team unity from the Barners.

Let me say that I dont know the entire story (as do none of you with the possible exception of TerrP  )

This crap happens all the time. Practice fights that is. Im sure he was acting a fool and the senior set him stright. As for the "dog pile", whatever.....im sure the kid was at fault....suck it up and get back in there.
