Alabama Prediction: What’s Going To Happen
This might not be the automatic slam dunk everyone thinks it’ll be.

The schedule is about as easy as it can reasonably get. There’s no nasty non-conference game, but Louisville and Arkansas State will at least bring the offense. LSU is the only road date against anyone who went bowling, and there’s a week off to prepare for that.

But there are a whole slew of question marks being glossed over because it’s just assumed that the Crimson Tide will do what the Crimson Tide always do.

The defensive line will eventually be amazing around Raekwon Davis, and it was outstanding at times in spring ball, but it might take a little bit to come up with the backups and the right rotation.

The same goes for a secondary that has a boatload of talent, but loses a few all-time greats.

Whatever.

Even with the manageable slate, there will be one misfire along the way – watch out for the new offenses at Arkansas and Mississippi State to be a bit of an X factor – but there won’t be that second loss needed to screw things up.

The Crimson Tide will get to the SEC Championship at 11-1.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 11

Bama will come out roaring on offense. The D might give up a few yards and points over the first four games against Louisville, Arkansas State, Ole Miss and Texas A&M, but it’ll be fine. There won’t be any drama.

The home wins won’t be a problem against Missouri, Mississippi State, Citadel and Louisiana-Lafayette, and the revenge game against Auburn will be a fight, but the Tide will get by.

Again, there will be one bad day along the way, but that won’t be enough to keep them from getting back to the final four.

And as last season showed, just get in, and everything should be just fine.

The most I've seen was 10.5.

It's almost impossible to go undefeated in P5 so this is a safe number. I'm still lost on who that loss would come against.

I can't see State getting Bama at home. I don't believe Jimbo can completely right that shit overnight (he's done a lot to get them on track.) LSU, no. Auburn. Not at home.

But they're still saying 11-1 and in the playoff. SECCG loser gets in?

Hard to see or pick a loss....
Take some incredible luck...so anybody...
Take an incredible player....( A Cam/ mansiel/etc). Dont see one
I would say this...Tiger Stadium can be a nasty hole to play in.....just saying and LSU has talent.. where the other games on the road are vs teams that dont really have that much...

"The Crimson Tide will get to the SEC Championship at 11-1."

He is not saying Bama will lose the SECCG. He never comes out and says it but he is indicating Bama will lose to LSU.

2018 Alabama Crimson Tide Football Schedule Analysis

– It’s Alabama, so there will always be an interesting season opener. Louisville – especially without Lamar Jackson – isn’t like dealing with what Florida State was supposed to be going into last season. And that’s it for the non-conference battles, with Arkansas State up next, more Sun Belt fun with Louisiana-Lafayette a few weeks later, and then Citadel late in the season before the Auburn showdown.

– The LSU game is in Baton Rouge, but at least the Tide get a week off to prepare. However, the last three games are in Tuscaloosa – including Auburn – with Texas A&M and Mississippi State coming to town, too. Out of the four true road games, only LSU went bowling last season.

– There’s the date with Tennessee from the East – as always – and it’s on the road, However, hosting Missouri as the other interdivisional battle isn’t bad, and it’s an obvious break to not face Georgia. Not playing Florida isn’t a bad thing, either.
