šŸˆ Friday Flashback: Alabama 23, LSU 17 (Nov. 6, 1999)

Alabama linebacker Marvin Constant and cornerback Reggie Myles stopped LSU quarterback Josh Booty inches from the goal-line on the game's final play as the Crimson Tide held off a late Tigers rally to preserve a 23-17 win in front of a packed house at Bryant-Denny Stadium and a regional television audience.

This was one of those games (much like the game we just played against UT) where Bama won, but I almost felt like we had lost once it was over. LSU was HORRIBLE that season (Dinardo’s last) and there was no reason for them to have a chance to win at the end of the game. Turnovers and missed scoring opportunities kept them in the game.

PFLUGNER!!!!!!!!!!!!! That guy cost Bama a couple of games that year. If he makes the XP in OT we get another shot at Michigan. And he made the end of LSU closer than it should have been. Wasnt Shaun Alxander nursing a bad ankle after the UT game?

I was there, cant recall.

I have a buddy, long time Bama fan that cant stand to hear the name pflugner. He once stomped on his team captain square by Denny Chimes in protest. LOL!

I was at that game. I remember it being pretty loud in Bryant Denny that particular afternoon, but not as loud as it was for the Bama/Miss. St. game that same year. If I recall, the Bama/Miss. St. game was the game that sealed the deal for us to play for the SEC Championship game against Florida.

Great memories...

I just hope that the stadium will be even louder this saturday!

Hell yeah!!

Can't leave out Marcus Spencer's INT in the end zone or Jason McCaffey's job on the onside kick to set up the final score.

Brings back memories of that wheel route with Shaun.

wrong year that was 98 in Red Stick. My first trip to Baton Rouge! WHat a weird game. They had like 3 kicks bounce off the uprights (no good) we had two scores off tipped passes. WILD WILD finish.

Marvin Constant ended his playing career saving that TD in 99 for all practical purposes. (above)
