| PRO Franco Harris, RIP Legend

This was not the news I wanted to see today. Two days before the 50th anniversary of his play that saved the hopes of a city. Franco was going to see his jersey get retired as well. I didn't start following football till the late 70s and early 80s. Both Franco and Major Ogilvie were star RBs in my playbook. RIP, legend.

I'm not a big Steelers fan or anything, but always liked Franco. Great name first off. Great player obviously. And when you think of him, you Immediallty think, Steelers...

I was a huge Steelers fan growing up it's a shame the organization did not retire his jersey before he passed.
They have not retired Bradshaw's jersey as well. WTF.

I was a Raider fan too back in those days, but all kind of respect for Franco, he was a class act. RIP Mr. Harris.

I remember there was a brief moment where Harris was in line to pass Jim Brown for the all-time rushing record, and there were those who spoke ill of Franco and his tendency to go out of bounds and not get the tough yards. He ended up falling just short of Brown, and Walter Payton blew by him, to put the matter to rest and Franco settled in, at the time, as number three on the all-time list.

Met him at the SEC Fanfare as a young kid. Very nice guy, took a picture with me and everything. For the longest time I thought his name was Frank O'Harris.

Never was a Steelers fan but I enjoyed watching those teams play. May his family find peace and comfort.
