🏈 Fox Sports 2009 Power rankings

The season is fast approaching, so it's time to identify the top teams in the country. Based on how good the teams should be going into the season, here is the CFN preseason top 25.

1. Florida

Relative strengths: Quarterback, Linebacker

Relative weaknesses: Offensive Line, Running Back
What to watch for on offense: The I-formation?! New offensive coordinator Steve Addazio was experimenting this offseason in an attempt to add a few more wrinkles to the equation. No, this isn't going to be 1977 Nebraska, and the spread isn't going anywhere, but part of the overall goal is to develop Tim Tebow's NFL passing ability and to get the running backs more involved.

Truth is this guy doesn't know JACK. Everybody in the country has Florida at number 1 (Which is the only thing he got right). Jarrett Lee shouldn't even have been mentioned with LSU considering they found there go to guy late in the season. I hate can not stand the USC bandwagon.

My question is, has the person that wrote this article even been watching college football for the past two years? Georgia number 5? Ha, that is laughable. The only thing that even kept Georgia from sinking last year was their skill players who scored enough points to make up for their pitiful excuse of a defense. With Stafford and Moreno gone there is no way these guys contend for a top 5 spot.

Alabama number 11? ROTFLMAO, granted I am an Alabama fan and we have a lot of unknowns going into the season, but with the talent and shock that I believe Gmac will show the nation and a smothering and consistent defense that we have there isn't a team that we at least could not compete with.

Receivers a weakness? Again this guy must be a comedian. Jones can catch a ball in triple coverage, Maze can outrun the only other guy they have covering receivers. Not to mention Mccoy and the countless other guys we have with likened speed and stature. If there should have been any other relative weakness it should have been the offensive line in my opinion. I only say that because we are not sure how that is going to turn out and we know what a struggling line did to our gameplan last year. Okay I feel better now :a:

This is the kind of stuff we have to endure while waiting for the season to get underway. Anybody with a computer and a forum can voice his pre-season opinions. I'm itching for some real football information.

Is there any streaming on Saban's press conference?

Come on guys.

One receiver doesn't make a receiving corps strong.

I'm thinking that our receiving stats are going to look about the same as last year.

Julio.
Our TE's.
And then we just need one more guy that can add 3-400 yards on the season.

If our TE's can have a 5-600 yard season it's going to be very hard to stop our passing attack. But, it's not going to be because of our receivers specifically.

I'm not saying one reciever is making our corps strong. I really think we have some playmakers at WR this year. Maze will be the P/A Deep threat and will make some guys pay in my opinion. I just dont think we lack much, if at all in that position. Just my opinion however. :)

I have an issue with some of the higher ranked teams, namely UGA but I'd say the 8-11 range is valid for Bama given the players they lost. I realize there is a lot of optimism and excitement after last year but it is going to be difficult to replace your QB, RB and two All-American caliber offensive lineman without there being some growing pains. The schedule is very favorable this year but there are some potential land mines given what has to be replaced.

Bama will have a solid season and I think it'll come down to LSU or Bama for the SEC West
