📡 Former TCU RB Kent Waldrep Passed Today

When I first heard about Waldrep a few years ago, the thing that stuck with me the most was how shaken Coach Bryant was about his injury.

Impressive young man after the injury. Helped draft the ADA. An interesting fact, he won a 10 year battle with the state of Texas over a workman’s comp claim he filed initially in early ‘91. Final outcome he was found to be an employees of TCU when he was injured. I, at least, find that interesting and I wonder if it set any precedent.

I remember when one of his sons came to Alabama. There was a big write up about it in the B'ham news and Mal Moore played an integral part in getting it approved for the son to come on a Bryant Scholarship.

My wife and I were at that game. Kent was hit low on that sweep and he went high in the air with his feet over his head. He landed pretty much headgear first.
