🏈 Former Ohio State players frustrated by Cotton Bowl blowout, liked chances against Alabama

Once he saw Alabama seize control from Michigan State, Vannett had to turn off the Cotton Bowl. The 2014 national champion Buckeyes had come so close to meeting the Crimson Tide in the semifinals for a second straight year. So to see another Big Ten team take a 38-0 beating didn't sit well with Vannett and the other former Ohio State players participating in this week's Senior Bowl in Mobile.

"It kinda made us look bad," Vannett said.
During the game, and afterwards, I don't recall any of the people I hang out with talking about how Bama's game vs Sparty made Ohio State look like anything ... not even a thought about them from my point of view.

" And I think the way we played in the last couple of games, we could have played against any team in the country. I know it would have been another war like it was the year before. So it would have been interesting to see."

I guess they should have played that way the last couple of regular season games. Then this would have all been moot. But instead, they skated through an easy B10 schedule, and got complacent, and it bit them in the hind parts. And I am assuming these two gentlemen are playing for the north (not capitalized on purpose) squad, so I hope their disappointment continues into next year.

Roll, National Champions, Roll!

The one team that could have beat Bama, at that point of the season, gave it their everything and still came up 5 points short.

I also understand, he was probably asked that question and handled it with some class, so props to the guy.

OSU had the players, just didn't have the mindset. I hope we can maintain it next year too. It is hard to repeat and I'm looking to three-peat. Coach says he ain't all day to pass the Bear in NCs.
