The Shelby County Alumni chapter is having a party Thursday night.
"HOPE YOU WERE THERE!!!!!!! It was TOO MUCH FUN!!!! It was fun on the Quad before the game (thanks to all who came by the tent-what a blast that has been!) and it was fun at the game, and it was fun ALL OVER The QUAD/Campus/Tuscaloosa all night! What a BEATDOWN!!!!! RTR!!!
The fun and celebration continues this coming Thursday night, December 4th at 6 PM as we gather at Johnny Carino's Italian Restaurant in the Patton Creek shopping center behind the Galleria for food, fun, door prizes, fund-raising for the Scholarship Fund and a celebration of the season and to prepare ourselves to support the TIDE in its WAR in the DOME! We've got some Gator meat that needs to be broiled, roasted, fried, BARBEQUED!!!
Several players from the 1992 National Championship team, WHICH BEAT FLORIDA IN THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, will be there. ANTONIO LONDON, starting linebacker on that 1992 team is confirmed. A certain defensive back (who had a VERY important interception return for the game winning TD) is a possibility, as is the starting safety for the 1992 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP team. MICHAEL PROCTOR, the place-kicker for the 1992 team, WHICH BEAT FLORIDA IN THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, will be there as well. CHRIS STEWART, the play-by-play voice of the Crimson Tide for the CSS broadcast and for the pre- and post-game show, who did such a great job for us at the Pep-Rally back in August, will be there to Emcee, and he is hoping to bring his broadcast partner, TYLER WATTS with him. I hope this group, WHICH BEAT FLORIDA IN THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, THEN WENT ON TO WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPOINSHIP!!!, can bring their good karma to the gathering and help get the Shelby County Alumni ready to do our part this coming Saturday, and help us raise some money for our Scholarship Fund.
Here's what we're doing: PRINT THIS e-MAIL and bring it with you. Johnny Carino's has generously agreed to give you a 10% discount off your meal. They are not allowed to make a direct contribution to any organization, so we are asking you to make a donation at the door directly to the University of Alabama Alumni Scholarship Fund (it's tax deductible!) for whatever amount you feel like donating. Any amount from five bucks to whatever you think 10% of your meal will be to anything you want to donate will be appreciated! We will drink, eat, visit and generally revel in the results of the season, relish the BEATDOWN of the 'Barn, then Chris will Emcee the rest of the evening, commenting on the game Saturday, the season, the SEC Championship game, and getting comments from the former players and their perspective of the game and what it will take to win. At the end we have some door prizes, including a pair of tickets to the Alabama Basketball game on Sunday. Folks, if that doesn't sound like a good time and something that'll get you ready for Saturday, then I can't help ya!!!
Please make your plans to be there, and come a little early if you like. It's always good to stretch and warm up! See you Thursday night, and remember to bring your checkbook for a great cause! THANKS!
