They return 21 starters off of their 13-0 team from this season in 2010. Some people are trumpeting them as the #1 for next season. It is widely stated that their schedule was weak, but I wanted to take a look at just how bad their schedule really was.

Oregon finished 10-3. Solid team that Boise beat.
Miami OH 1-11. It does not get much worse.
Fresno 8-5. One of the better WAC teams, lost to Wisky and Cincy out of conference.
Bowling Green 7-6. Marquis win over Troy. 6 wins in MAC.
UC Davis.
Tulsa 5-7. Worse than record indicates. This team lost to UTEP and SMU
Hawaii 6-7. June Jones is gone. Hawaii lost to Wisky 51-10
San Jose State 2-10. To find worse you have to play Miami (OH)
La Tech 4-8. Allbarn beat this team to open season. Boise was much closer, winning by 10.
Idaho 8-5 with non-conference wins over UNI and Colorado State. Bowl Win over Bowling Green.
Utah State 4-8. It Rhymes. 3 wins were in conference. 1 was over a 5-6 FCS team.
Nevada 8-5 WAC team that lost 35-0 to Notre Dame and 45-10 to SMU.
New Mex State. 3-10. 2 conf wins + Prarie View.

Ok...for those keeping record, that is 7 teams with losing records, plus a team from the FCS.

When you play 7 teams with losing records, why the heck do you play a FCS team?!? I can understand a SEC team doing it because every week is a meat grinder, but Boise played 7 teams with losing records. Alabama played 3 teams with losing records, and one FCS team. Conversely, Bama beat four teams ranked in the top 10. Boise beat TCU (top 10) in their bowl, and Oregon (16).

People can whine about the BCS all they want, but looking at Boise's track record, they would get pounded in the SEC. Sure, they beat OU in a bowl...TCU... but one game set a month apart from the regular season does not a season make. They played UGA in 2005 and got drilled.

Boise is a good WAC team, but thats it. In the SEC or Big 12, they would be a 4-4 team at best.

Preseason #1? I don't think so.

I hear a lot of people saying the pre-season polls will be Bama at #1 and Boise at #2. I LOVE the sound of that. It would be easy for Boise to run the table again. It will be really hard for us to run the table again with games @Knoxville and @Baton Rouge, but if we can do it, playing for a NC against Boise is a dream match-up for a Bama Fan. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I don't think so we have everything to lose and nothing to gain. First off to go back to back is almost unheard of, then to play Whoise St is a joke. I'm just enjoying what we have now... :td:

Boise is a fun team for the media to write about and fun for their fanbase to watch....other than that...nothing more. They wouldnt last playing stiff teams week after week. The media has done their best to build them up as a cinderella and for the most part..have done exactly that. I know one thing for sure....the smurf turf gives me a headache.
