Just saw this movie today. It is FANTASTIC! Even people who don't care anything about sports need to check it out. It's a touching, true story about a homeless teen (Michael Oher) who became an All-American at Ole Miss and got drafted into the NFL. I give it five stars out of five.

There are several outstanding performances, including Sandra Bullock, Quinton Aaron (who plays Michael) and Jae Head (who plays Sandra Bullock's young son).

Fantastic? I can't go that far. Good book and a good movie. I caught in online a day or two ago and enjoyed it, but the "theater experience" wouldn't have added a thing to the experience.

If that description makes sense...???

I'll say this...

For the Sandra Bullock fan base...those women that don't follow football will have their opinions swayed a bit by her comments in the movie.

Saw it last night... Hated it!!!!!!!!! Just Kidding....... Incredible movie... Especially because its real life! Had us crying 5-10 minute into the movie........ Wow! My only complaint is the kid didnt go to BAMA... Roll Tide Roll............

How did you find it online when it's still in theaters? :headscratch:

I caught that online as well. That WOULD have been worth the theater experience.

I end up having this conversation often it seems. Heck, today it was about SOA. I tend to catch that show in three and four episode spurts. But, I do follow it closely.

yea i dont see how u guys dont think it was 'fantastic'? prolly the best movie this year imo.

It's a family film with a football sub-text. For that genre, saying it's a good movie is a compliment.

I wonder if it was about a player that wasn't on an SEC team if there would be the same following around the southeast. I suspect I still wouldn't have watched it by now if it was a PAC-10 family.

For me personally, the fact it was Michael Oher didn't really matter. Had it been a movie about an actual Alabama player I woulda prolly went and saw it opening day actually in the theaters lol

I hear ya! Grab the book...not a bad read.

Best movie of the year comment earlier...that one got me thinking. Can't say there's been a great movie. State of Play (watched a few days ago) wasn't bad.

All that said...football/drama movies are so hit and miss...more often the latter.

^^ yea im not much of a reader but ive been told the book is great. last book i read was Shaun Alexander's so i might have to pick it up.

as far as football movies yea they are very hit and miss. I thought The Express was pretty good (though I've heard pretty inaccurate in places) but i thought this movie was the best one since Remember The Titans.

That's the one I caught blindside on. There's a charge if you want unlimited access on that one though. I want to say it was 20 bucks for three months. Otherwise you get 70 something minutes and then have to wait a little while. (you can easily get by that in a matter of a minute by changing your "virtual location.") Just lately I've seen the blindside movie on that site, 2012...watched movies like Inglorious Basterds when it premiered a few hours before.

I've used those other two as well...
