🏈 Football. Mal Moore Inducted into Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Saturday Night

Alabama's Director of Athletics, the person who has been associated with more national championships than anyone in Crimson Tide history, will stand besides the former teammates, colleagues and numerous students whom he helped and have already received the highest accolade that their state can offer.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Some don't realize that he was once a backup quarterback out of the small town of Dozier, Alabama.

Others are simply unaware that he was one of the players who helped Paul W. "Bear" Bryant win his first national championship in 1961.

But Saturday night, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame will take a major step in making sure that people never forget Mal Moore, or his accomplishments. After being associated with the University of Alabama for more than 50 yards as a student, assistant coach and administrator, Moore will be recognized and celebrated when the Class of 2012 is finally inducted during a banquet at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel.

It would take some time and an awful lot of research to find the exact number but I'd love to know how many SECC's Moore has been a part of while he's been at UA—including all sports of course.

Considering just in the last few weeks we've seen two SECC's and an NC. Well, if we include tourney champs that's four or five more "rings" he's been associated with.

This took forever to compile and organize, believe me. But it’s about the only way to quantify success for a given athletics season. So we looked at every one since 1970 at it related to Alabama to go with today’s print story.
