🏈 Flu??

I hope this flu issue isnt too serious for the team but on the other hand TC might lose the weight neccessary to be one of the rabbits on third down!

A little off the subject but this is what we are currently dealing with in Vicksburg. This past month there were 8 reported cases of swine flu within the Vicksburg-Warren school district.

Yesterday, a first grader here in Vicksburg died of bacterial meningitis. Today, a 15-year-old student at my daughter's high school left campus this morning complaining of flu-like symptoms. He then collapsed at a local medical clinic and died. At first, b. meningitis was suspected but now the report is leaning toward swine flu as the culprit.

Needless to say, there are some very concerned parents here.

Hope this does not affect local high school football play.

It is running rampant here in my area. 10 people including 4 in my sons class left school yesterday because of flu like symptoms. I know of two on the HS team that are out with it.

Saban: 4 or 5 cases of flu; other health issues too; quarantine of the ill
Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban reported the football team has experienced flu issues since school began. Saban said the football team had no problems with the 105-man roster, but once school began and the remaining players joined the squad and students returned to campus, things deteriorated.
Currently, there are four or five players with the flu, and four or five others with upper respiratory problems (non-fever illness). There is a protocol in place, Saban said. This includes quarantine of ill players, and also hygiene and nutrition work “so we don’t get this throughout our team,” the Alabama football coach said.
The quarantine involves putting players in a dorm room alone and taking care of the players “so they aren’t around other people.” So far, most of the ill have been sick about three days, Saban said.
“We are very hopeful this does not become an issue for college football or sports this fall,” Saban said.
The Alabama Crimson Tide faces the Virginia Tech Hokies to kickoff the season September 5 in Atlanta for the Chick-Fil-A College Football Kickoff game. Last year, Alabama defeated Clemson to open the season in Atlanta.

Any idea who the players are? Like I said in a previous post the symptoms do not last to long about 10 days I believe. Once you catch it, you can not catch it again

It looks like we're slowly building up towards a major epidemic here. I hate to sound inconsiderate with all these children becoming sick, but I hope this doesn't hurt the fall football season. In high school and college.

You are not being inconsiderate. Many people feel the same way. The communities here and else where look forward to football in the off season not swine flu. So it is a bit heartbreaking. Aubrun might not be reporting it? Dunno if they are but I know it is being passed along there as well. Many cases at city schools there (from what I have heard).

The idiots that said this was taken care of and over with a year ago...well that is another story.
