🏈 Florida fans boycott Sugar Bowl

They're taking this loss much worse than us last year.

In all seriousness, New Years Eve in New Orleans? Sounds like a serious party to me, who cares about the game itself...it's the added bonus. :lol:
 
The Gators might not have as favorable of a schedule. To Tennessee, to Alabama, and a game against an improved Florida State next year. Yes, I do blieve FSU will be improved.
Still, I don't see them losing any more than 3 games, which will seem like armageddon compared to what they are used to.

The loss to us in the SECCG must have really, really hurt. I don't frequent Gator message boards or associate with THOSE people, but I'd bet there are some who wish Meyer would have taken the job at Notre Dame.
 
I found some pretty interesting links on a rival board concerning Florida recruits who have symbols and links on their own myspace pages to gangs in Florida. Those include pictures of guns and drugs and money. It's pretty frightening to see who they are recruiting. I didn't know that "bird" was slang for a kilo of cocaine.
 
Apparently there is more to this story than meets the eye. This comment to the story sheds some more light on it:

"I'm a Florida alum and have had season tickets for 15 years. I think UF's inability to sell their allotment of Sugar Bowl tickets is more of "I've hads enough" mentality than our fans being upset at not being able to go to the BCS title game. The UAA @ UF assigns a point cutoff for buying post-season tickets, in this case 501 (SEC Championship was 542). If you don't have enough points, you can't order tickets. They hold 250 tickets for a lottery for those out of the 15,000 boosters who don't have the minimum required points. After 15 years, I have 142 points, not even close. Moreover, I've met boosters that have had tix for 25-30 years that don't have enough points! Money talks, and the more you give, the more points you can get. So, basically, I think what you're seeing is that a lot of the Gator boosters who are normally shut out of ticket sales for post-season games are sending a message of sorts to the UAA. Besides, as soon as I saw the point cutoff, I made other plans for the game. As an officer with my local Gator Club, I'll just help host a local viewing party....."

Sounds as if they set the buying point priority too high. It wasn't as if they didn't have fans that wanted to go. All of the ones who did want to go could not order.

I dunno. They didn't want to go see Tebow's last game. Why would they want to go see UM's last game? The fans really don't seem to be very loyal given all that the two of them have done for their program over the past several years.

In the end, it's still Cincy.

I'll likely watch the game simply because it's the Sugar Bowl, the only game on, and it's one of the last opportunities I'll have to watch college football this season. BUT, the game itself isn't one I'm looking forward to watching.

So much talent still in Gainesville.

When Spurrier left, the win average per season only dropped by two games when they hired Zook. He'd put three 10 win season together in his last four years. Zook hit eight wins twice before the Peach Bowl appearance ended up being his last at UF.

I say that, thinking this...

A decent coach should put them in a position to win 10 games next season. That's still in the running for the Sugar, very much a Cap One type of team.

Those last two are what I would consider top flight bowl games.
