šŸ“” Florida defensive coordinator Todd Grantham & OL coach John Hevesy have been fired

I don't think he gets another season. I wonder if there's anything in those guys' contracts that makes a midseason firing more financially attractive for the school - because I think the school is calling the shots now.
Yep and that alone tells you Mullen is on borrowed time. For that matter as a coach you want to control your own destiny and the fact he is not will sour things quickly as we are seeing real time.

Just did a little digging. Looks like his "Show Cause" will be up next month. With the early signing period and the bulk of recruiting being over, may be too late.

I know that a percentage of highly rated players will stick to the traditional Feb signing date. I wonder how well he can close on that late signing period?

Maybe he gets one more year. He missed with Emory Jones. With Anthony Richardson having a ton of ability and only needing more time to learn, I think Mullen gets that one year to really see if he can be the coach. They lost a lot on offense like we did. Not an excuse for the other stuff, but if we keep saying that giving ourselves an excuse we gotta give it to him as well.

I don’t think Mullen gets another year. Mullen has had those guys with him for a while, even back at MSU, so I don’t see this as his call. Higher ups pulled the trigger on this one and will likely show him the door.

I personally don't think Mullen wants to be there, and hasn't for a while. There's stuff he could get away with in Starkville (not cheating, just his act), that he won't get a pass on under the bright lights at Florida. To win there though, you've still got to recruit. It's easy fishing for a coach that likes to fish for them, but he doesn't. I know he's handcuffed by the show cause stuff, but I doubt he cares about it. 1- that in itself shouldn't be too big of an impact, and 2- you're punishing a guy from doing something he doesn't care to do in the first place (be out on the road recruiting).

Where he has screwed up, IMO is that he had his eyes on the NFL ever since he got to Gainesville and found out it wasn't what he thought. With the way he's let things blow up, it would be harder for him to land a head job at that level now. Just guessing, but I think he ends up at a VT or Louisville type job and tries to recreate his success.

If as many of you say that the school is calling the shots, watch him for confirmation. He is not one to handle it well, goes against his grain and it will show.

Why would he be interested or qualified for an NFL job? I never did understand that one even through I have heard and read it a few times.

He could be interested for a number of reasons, but not having to deal with recruiting and a lot of the stuff that comes with a major college job I'm sure would be enticing. Personally, I don't think he'd be a success at the NFL, but for the foreseeable future many NFL owners aren't going to stop making high risk/high reward hires hoping they land an offensive minded guy that can win them a Super Bowl.

I forgot to add earlier that I could easily see Grantham making a stop in Tuscaloosa (off the field) if he chooses to go that route.
